Mumbai edge past Punjab despite Yuvraj brilliance

Mumbai’s famed professionalism was to the fore as it put to shade Yuvraj Singh’s run-a-ball 93 to ensure that the team romped home with a five-wicket win over Punjab.

Batting first, Punjab, powered by a stroke-filled knock by Yuvraj, desperately seeking a national call, scored what looked to be a healthy 254 in 48.1 overs. This, despite struggling at one stage at 54 for three in the 14th over.

With the pitch offering some bounce in the morning, Mumbai pacers were equal to the task bowling a much better line as Sagar V. Trivedi and Dhawal Kulkarni struck early.
