Mahendra Singh Dhoni top-scored with a defiant 44 but his innings went in vain as Jharkhand lost to Gujarat by six wickets in the Group B League match.

Electing to bat at the KSCA Cricket (3) Ground, Jharkhand scored 177 for four in 47 overs but could not stop Gujarat from running away with an easy win.

Gujarat rode on opener Priyank Kirit Panchal’s 62 to achieve their target in 40.5 overs. If the second-wicket 111-run partnership between Panchal and skipper Parthiv Patel (44) laid the base for their comfortable win then Rujul Bhatt (24 not out and Axar Patel made sure (32 not out) that they only lose four wickets in the process.

Vidarbha beat Delhi by 18 runs

Delhi opener Faiz Fazal’s defiant half-century went in vain as Vidarbha beat Delhi by 18 runs in a Group C encounter.

Electing to bat at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, Vidarbha rode on Fazal’s 83 to post 163 (all out) in 45.2 overs—a score which proved challenging.

Delhi pacer Ishant Sharma bowled his heart out to return with impressive figures of five for 21 and his effort was backed up by Navdeep Amardeep Saini and Subodh Bhati, who bagged two wickets each.

Kerala thrash Railways

V. A. Jagadeesh hammered a brilliant 121 off 137 balls as Kerala thrashed Railways by 60 runs in their Vizay Hazare Trophy one-day cricket match here today.

Put into bat, Kerala piled up 256 for 8 and then shot Railways out for 196 runs in 43.1 overs to not up their first win in the tournament. Railways had beaten defending champions Karnataka yesterday,.

Kerala had lost their first match against Haryana by nine runs.
