India U-19 skipper Prithvi Shaw exudes promise and perseverance. Four days within lifting the colts’ World Cup in New Zealand, the 18-year-old is set to bite the domestic dust; joining his state team Mumbai for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy games.
But Sportstar learnt that he may not be of the playing XI against Tamil Nadu at the Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering Ground on Thursday.
Prithvi arrived late on Wednesday night, after being felicitated by Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai. The team management has decided to take a call on his inclusion on Thursday morning. “It all depends on the composition of the team and how he feels in the morning. He is arriving late and the venue is far from the city, so a call will be taken in the morning,” a source close to the team said.

Prithvi — a right-handed batsman — made his first-class debut last season and within a year, he amassed 961 runs including five hundreds and three fifties. Coincidentally, a year ago, he made his Vijay Hazare debut at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here against Gujarat.
In this season, Mumbai has won two out of two; on the other hand, Tamil Nadu — despite the presence of India stars Murali Vijay and Ravichandran Ashwin — lost to Goa in its last fixture after overcoming Gujarat in its opener.
