Hosts Himachal Pradesh came up with a fine performance with the bat as it beat Tripura by six wickets in a Group B tie of the ongoing Vijy Hazare Trophy at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala on Monday.

Tripura put up a decent performance to pile up 229 after put to bat by Himachal Pradesh. The hill-side, however, reached the target, with six wickets to spare. Yashpal Singh was the top scorer with 113 runs. HP’s Pankaj Jaiswal, Vinay Galetiya and Rishi Dhawan claimed three wickets each.

In reply, it was HP’s Amit Kumar, who too struck a ton (101 not out), who took his side to a comfortable six-wicket win.
