Mumbai continued its winning streak with a 41-run victory against Gujarat in the Group C fixture of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering Ground here on Tuesday.

Opting to bowl first, Gujarat bowlers couldn’t handle the onslaught of the Mumbai top order, led by Siddhesh Lad — who scored 129 off 125 balls comprising 11 fours and four sixes — and Aditya Tare (51 off 56). Shubham Ranjane’s cameo (22 off 13) took Mumbai past the 300-run mark.

Ishwar Chaudhary (3/46) was the only bowler who troubled the likes of Lad and Tare.
Chasing 318, Gujarat started on a positive note with skipper Priyank Panchal scoring 89 off 96 balls (seven fours and two sixes) and Bhargav Merai, who tightened the middle order with a 63-ball 64 (three fours).

Gujarat lost the last six wickets for 73 runs to be eventually wrapped up for 276.
Rookie seamer Royston Dias finished with figures of 4/64.
