HIGHLIGHTS

Karnataka vs Kerala: Ah, commentator's curse... GAME. SET. MATCH. Karnataka romps home to an 80-run win over Kerala as Jalaj walks, caught behind.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Nedumankuzhy and Jalaj are making it very evident that they won't go down without a fight no matter how difficult the situation may seem hereon. Jalaj is farming the strike and has already hit three boundaries. Kerala 258/9 in 43.3 overs, needs 81 runs to win.

Karnataka vs Kerala: It's a fifer for More! S Sreesanth walks back into the hut. Karnataka needs just one more wicket to become the second team to make the semis. Kerala 237/9 in 40.5 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Krishnamurthy Siddharth takes a fine catch as Basil Thampi perishes. Four wickets for Ronit More. Kerala 229/8 in 39 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: SIXTH WIN ON THE TROT FOR GUJARAT AS IT STAGES A GRAND ENTRY INTO THE SEMIFINALS! Lalith holes out to Gaja at long-off, while trying to go for a big shot. Panchal has been adjudged the Man of the Match for his century.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Another one! And if I may say, the biggest of 'em all! Vathsal falls only eight runs short of a List A century. The required run-rate has, meanwhile, shot right through the roof. Kerala 219/7 in 37 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Harishankar has been beaten and castled... by a full toss! Of all the ways one could get dismissed... Andhra 181/9 in 39.3 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: You just cannot keep Nagwaswalla out of the game, can you? If he is not doing the bowling, he will deliver the goods with his impressive fielding. A tossed-up googly from Chawla sees Shoaib take up the challenge but Nagwaswalla at long-on makes no mistake. Andhra 179/8 in 38.4 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Kerala in a spot of bother as Shreyas Gopal makes a mess of Chandran's furniture! In comes Jalaj. Kerala 215/6 in 36 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala:Is that the end of the road for Kerala or does Vathsal still have some magic trick up his sleeve? BR Sharath's sharp glovework behind the stumps has gotten rid of Azharuddeen before he could inflict further damage. Akshay Chandran is the new man in. Kerala 209/5 in 35 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Gujarat has managed to stem the run flow after Bhui's dismissal to an enormous extent. Andhra 161/7 in 36 overs, needs 139 to win.

Karnataka vs Kerala:Will this be the game-changing partnership?Azharuddeen gets to a quickfire fifty off just 30 deliveries as Vathsal closes in on his 90s. Kerala 196/4 in 31.5 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Chawla gets the wicket Gujarat was so desperately looking for! Bhui has been adjudged LBW while trying to go for an audacious sweep off a straighter delivery from the leg-spinner. Andhra 137/7 in 28.2 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Vathsal gets a fifty off 62 deliveries after Kerala captain Sachin Baby, who was earlier providing him able support from the other end, departs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammed Azharuddeen, recently picked by the RCB during the IPL 2021 auctions, has come to the crease. Kerala 131/4 in 26 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Nagwaswalla, brought back into the attack by Panchal, delivers what the Gujarat management wanted straightaway! He bowls a shorter delivery and Dharma has pulled this one straight into the safe palms of Hardik at deep square leg. Nagwaswalla is one short of his second fifer of the season; the first one having come against Chhattisgarh. He has now also become the highest wicket-taker of this season with 19 wickets, surpassing Uttar Pradesh's Shivam Sharma (18).Andhra 119/6 in 24.2 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Bhui goes downtown over bowler Krishnappa Gowtham's head to bring up his fifty i n style with a massive six. Only moments ago, Bhui also reached a fifty-run partnership with Dharma Naren Reddy off 45 balls. Andhra 118/5 in 24 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Karan Patel has made a mess of the stumps! Shinde will have to go. Gujarat only five wickets away from a semifinal berth. Andhra 58/5 in 15.5 overs

Gujarat vs Andhra: A close shave! Bhui heaves a sigh of relief. The 24-year-old calls for an almost non-existent single while he himself was running towards the danger end. A direct hit wouldn't have even found him in the frame. Is the pressure getting to the mind of the batsmen? Time for a drinks break. Andhra 50/4 in 14 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Another one bites the dust! Prasidh Krishna joins the party, dismissing the dangerous Vinod for 28. Kerala 52/3 in 11.5 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Nitish cannot believe what he is seeing! Piyush Chawla takes a stunning catch at short mid-wicket to hand Hardik his first wicket of the day. Out walks Karan Shinde as Andhra slips further. Andhra 36/4 in 10.4 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Vathsal Govind and Vinod have some rebuilding to do. With two crucial wickets down, they have exercised added caution when it comes to shot selection to keep out of harm's way. Kerala 46/2 in 10.1 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: "You cannot do that Arzan Nagwaswalla... you cannot do that!" The Gujarat pacer has single-handedly started dismantling the Andhra top-order. And this time, it's the big fish! Hanuma Vihari dishes out a half-hearted shot straight into the lap of the third-man fielder Hardik Patel. The captain's gone for nought as Ricky Bhui takes his place in the middle. Andhra 21/3 in 5.1 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Wait up, slightly confused as to which team is in more trouble as of now... Andhra or Kerala? Robin Uthappa and Rohan S Kunnummal are back in the hut already. K erala 15/2 in 5.1 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Oh no! Just when I was thinking it would have been a good time for Hanuma Vihari to step out at number three instead of K Nithish Reddy given his impeccable record at the position in domestic cricket, he steps out shortly after anyway, as Gujarat loses another opener in Hebbar. Nagwaswalla, meanwhile, gives off Pakistan's Hasan Ali vibes as he pulls a shoulder muscle while giving the batsman a send-off. Thankfully, there's no major injury. Andhra 21/2 in 3.2 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Arzan Nagwaswalla lets out a loud cry as he manages to get rid of Gnaneshwar early in the innings. The delivery swings just a touch back into the right-hander before crashing into the pads. Looked stone dead straightaway... and umpire Rohan Pandit didn't hesitate before raising his finger. Andhra 11/1 in 2 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Robin Uthappa and Vishnu Vinod hold the key to Kerala's success and the opening pair needs to build a huge partnership hereon to see the tables turn. Prasidh Krishna opens the bowling.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Ashwin Hebbar and Chengalpet Gnaneshwar to open for Andhra. Chintan Gaja has been given the responsibility to bowl with the new ball.

Karnataka vs Kerala: At Palam, Kerala has managed to get rid of Samarth as well. We saw 22 FOURS and THREE MAXIMUMS come off his willow in that knock. Wait... What now? Krishnappa Gowtham has been sent back for a golden duck in the same over. Right out of nowhere, Nedumankuzhy Basil has snapped up three wickets now. Karnataka 324/3 in 49 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Panchal falls for 134 but the damage has already been done. Must say the Andhra bowlers have done well to regain their composure during the endgame. Gujarat 284/7 in 48.2 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Two quick wickets in a matter of only 12 runs have pushed Gujarat a bit on the backfoot. Experienced campaigner Piyush Chawla joins his captain in the middle. Gujarat 277/6 in 47 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: 150 for Samarth! In a matter of only a few overs, Kerala has been reduced to a mere shadow of its former self. The skyscrapers below pretty much narrate the whole story... Karnataka 276/1 in 45 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: With the third man up in the circle, Panchal lifts one over square to get the ball racing towards the ropes and in turn also reaches his big HUNDRED . It has been a stellar show from the 30-year-old! Gujarat 253/4 in 44.5 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Finally! Nedumankuzhy Basil gets the first Karnataka wicket - of that of Padikkal - but it might just prove to be too little, too late... Manish Pandey, quiet understandably, gets a promotion as the side looks to march on undeterred towards a humongous total. Karnataka 249/1 in 42.4 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Ripal eyes another glorious shot but that wasn't to be! Ricky Bhui takes a fine catch. Chirag Gandhi is the new man in. Gujarat 223/4 in 41.4 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala:Wake up. Eat. Score. Sleep. Repeat. Clearly what has been the young-gun Padikkal 's mantra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21. The Karnataka batsman has moved on to ANOTHER century . Calling it early, but he may be mighty close to breaking the national selectors' doors down now! In the meantime, Karnataka seems to be comfortably heading towards what will be the 42nd (or 43rd, if Gujarat reaches the mark first) 300-plus score in this season of the tournament. Karnataka 244/0 in 42 overs.

PadikkalJPG

Gujarat vs Andhra: Panchal looks well set to add to his List A century tally as he enters the 90s only moments after Gujarat cruises past 200. Gujarat 205/3 in 39.3 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: The captain is leading right from the front! A HUNDRED COMES UP FOR SAMARTH; the fifth 50-plus score in a row for the right-handed opening batsman. Karnataka 191/0 in 34.4 overs.

SamarthJPG
All Kerala bowlers to Ravikumar Samarth, thus far, in the Karnataka innings.

Gujarat vs Andhra: And gone! Seems like I have jinxed it... Patel, looking to go big over the midwicket region, off a shorter delivery from Harishankar, miscues and holes out to K Nitish Reddy. Delhi Capitals' new recruit Ripal Patel, who went about at a strike rate above 186 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21, comes to the crease. Gujarat 166/3 in 34.2 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Gujarat has managed to keep the momentum going despite the dual setbacks. Patel (contribution of 27*, 34b) and Panchal (contribution of 21*, 23b)bring up yet another fifty-run partnership. Gujarat 166/2 in 34 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Time for some drinks! Kerala, however, would see this as more of a strategic timeout with Padikkal and Samarth both on 80s and fast approaching their respective centuries. Karnataka 166/0 in 31 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Panchal and Patel keep the scoreboard ticking, occasionally going for the boundary off the odd loose ball. Gujarat sails past 150. Gujarat 150/2 in 31 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Skipper Sachin Baby himself decides to roll his arm over with Kerala still searching for the breakthrough. Goes for five runs and in the very next over Samarth and Co. zoom past 150. This is clearly bad news for Kerala! Karnataka 150/0 in 28.2 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Three overs after Karnataka enters the triple digits, Padikkal gets to yet another fifty . His previous scores in this edition of the tournament - 52 vs UP, 97 vs Bihar, 152 vs Odisha, 126* vs Kerala, 145* vs Railways; he has not gone even one match without scoring a fifty! Royal Challengers Bangalore fans, are you watching this?Karnataka 125/0 in 25 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Het Patel joins Panchal at the crease after A Lalith Mohan traps Shah plumb in front. Gujarat 113/2 in 24.1 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Panchal accelerates to get to his half-century off 57 deliveries. Five boundaries in that knock, thus far.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Shah (contribution of 22*, 40b) and Panchal (contribution of 27*, 35b) bring up the 50-run stand for the second wicket. Gujarat 85/1 in 19.3 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Samarth gets to his fifty in style with a boundary! It has been a one-way ride, thus far. Karnataka 88/0 in 17.4 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Close! Harishankar rolls his fingers over the seam to get the ball to nip, just a touch, back in. Panchal almost ends up getting a feather on this one. Gujarat 77/1 in 17 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Harishankar bowls three back-to-back outswingers which trouble Shah, luring him into the drive. The 24-year-old plays and misses on each occasion, inducing Vihari to call in a slip fielder. Gujarat 68/1 in 14.4 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Samarth and Padikkal bring up the side's fifty even as the PowerPlay comes to an end. Karnataka 52/0 in 10 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Captain Hanuma Vihari is using all his medium-pacers from the same end. M Harishankar Reddy has been introduced into the attack as the PowerPlay comes to an end after 10 overs. A maximum of four fielders may now be stationed outside the 30-yard circle until the 41st over. Gujarat 48/1 in 11 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Samarth and Padikkal, in good touch, continue to frustrate Kerala. The bowlers need to ask questions of the openers and fast before things and in turn the match slips out of hand. Karnataka 40/0 in 9 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra:
Sasikanth strikes! Raval, looking to flick a good-length delivery from Sasikanth down fine leg, gets a leading edge which carries to Karan Shinde at square leg. Rahul Shah, who last played a game for Gujarat in January 2019, comes to the middle. Gujarat 33/1 in 6.3 overs.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Raval and Panchal, in the meantime, have looked cautious from the get go. No unnecessary risks taken. Gujarat 13/0 in 4 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Samarth's boundary off S Sreesanth's very first over followed by another four in Jalaj's next maybe seen as a message of what's to follow as the day progresses. Karnataka 14/0 in 3 overs.

Karnataka vs Kerala: Ravikumar Samarth and Devdutt Padikkal, one of the strongest weapons in the Karnataka arsenal, open the batting. It'll be off-spin from Jalaj Saxena to start off things for Kerala at the Airforce Complex ground in Palam.

Gujarat vs Andhra: Wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Raval, Gujarat's highest scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season, takes guard and gears up to face KV Sasikanth, who will be bowling with the new ball. Captain Priyank Panchal takes his spot at the non-striker's end.

RECAP

Before we kickstart the day's proceedings, let's help you relive all the action from Sunday as you sip on your morning coffee.

Just when it seemed like Uttarakhand had done enough to seal the last quarterfinal spot in Vijay Hazare Trophy, the seventh-wicket pair of Anuj Rawat and skipper Pradeep Sangwan bounced back with an unbeaten 143-run stand on Sunday.

Looking down and almost out, Delhi owed its dramatic revival to Rawat (95 not out, 85b, 7x4, 6x6) and Sangwan (58 not out, 49b, 6x4, 2x6) who turned the match on its head in the space of 16 overs to take the host home with nine deliveries to spare at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground. The victory gave Delhi a place in the quarterfinals against Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Chasing 288, Delhi was reduced to 146 for six in 32.3 overs - with Nitish Rana out for 81 (88b, 10x4, 1x6) - and staring at defeat.  Barring the last 16 overs, Uttarakhand proved that it was neither intimidated by Delhi’s reputation nor the quality of its resources.

The visiting team started the innings with flair and ended with a flourish. Left-handed Kamal Singh (77, 83b, 11x4, 1x6) and Jay Bista (31, 29b, 4x4) gave an 88-run start in 13.5 overs by taking on new-ball bowlers Kulwant Khejrolia and Simarjeet Singh.

Rawat goes berserk

Kunal Chandela (62, 83b, 6x4), who played a stellar role in Delhi reaching the Ranji Trophy final in the 2017-18 season, punished his former teammates, providing mid-innings solidity.

After Delhi pulled Uttrakhand back through Nitish Rana (2/40) and Lalit Yadav (2/27), it was Saurabh Rawat (44, 23-ball, 4x4, 3x6) who provided the last-over flourish for Uttarakhand. Off left-arm medium pacer Pradeep Sangwan, Rawat hit 24 runs in five deliveries - 6, 6, 4, 6, 2 - before being yorked.
