Opening batsman Sheldon Jackson struck a second consecutive century in as many matches as Saurashtra thrashed Goa by 10 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Group D match here today.
Opting to bowl, Saurashtra bundled out Goa for 199 in 47.4 overs and then achieved the target without losing a wicket in just 26.2 overs at the SCA stadium Khandheri here.
Only four Goa batsmen could reach the double digit.
Skipper Sagun Kamat (95) missed his well-deserved century by just five runs while Swapnil Asnodkar (30), Reagan Pinto (29) and Saurabh Bandekar (17) reached the double digit.
Medium pacer Saurya Sanandiya was the pick of the bowlers with figures of three for 41, while Ravindra Jadeja took two for 31.
Chasing the 200-run target, Jackson, who had struck a century against Madhya Pradesh yesterday, continued his good run with the bat making 150 off 103 balls with 22 fours and four sixes. His opening partner Avi Barot remained not out on 49 off 56 balls, which included four boundaries.
This is Saurashtra’s second win of the tournament.
