England women run into form in T20 warm-up

England posted a tough total of 176 for 4 wickets and got the better of the India `A’ team by 45 runs at the Cricket Club of India on Monday.

The England women’s team made the most of the first Twenty20 warm-up and got the better of the India `A’ team by 45 runs at the Cricket Club of India on Monday.

Getting a feel of the second string Indian attack and the conditions at the Brabourne Stadium Bryony Smith,Tamsin Beaumont, Heather Knight scored half centuries to enable their team post a tough total of 176 for 4 wickets. Then the bowlers Anya Shrubsole, Natasha Farrant, Natalie Sciver took two wickets each to restrict  the home side to 131. D. Hemlatha made a 32-ball 41 with seven 4s.

The second warm up match will be played at the same venue on Tuesday.

India, Australia and England will play a Twenty20 triangular at the CCI from March 22 to 31.
