Eranga to return to Sri Lanka following heart scare

Shaminda Eranga will return to Sri Lanka after being hospitalised following the 136-run victory in the second one-day international against Ireland.

Eranga was taken to hospital following the detection of an elevated heartrate but further examinations removed any immediate cause for concern.

However, he will play no part in Sri Lanka's ODI series against England as a result and will return to his home nation.

"SLC [Sri Lanka Cricket] is pleased to confirm that Eranga, who was hospitalised on Saturday following a detection of an elevated heart-rate is out of danger and under observation and testing only," a statement said.

Eranga was suspended from international bowling on Sunday after his action was deemed to be illegal.
