Steven Finn has been recalled to the England squad for the fourth and final Test against South Africa, replacing the injured Mark Wood.

Wood missed the third Test at The Oval with a heel problem having initially been named in the squad, with Toby Roland-Jones stepping in to make his debut.

And he has now been forced to pull out completely, opening the door for 36-Test fast bowler Finn - initially called in as cover for Wood - to return to the fold.

Finn last featured for England in the second-Test defeat in Bangladesh in October.

Roland-Jones impressed on his England bow, taking eight wickets in a 239-run victory that moved England into a 2-1 lead in the series.

Opener Keaton Jennings will be given another opportunity to stake his claim as Alastair Cook's partner at the top of the order after a much-needed 48 in the second innings of match three.

The final Test begins on Friday at Old Trafford.

England squad: Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonathan Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Liam Dawson, Steven Finn, Keaton Jennings, Dawid Malan, Toby Roland-Jones, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Tom Westley.
