Punjab all-rounder Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Karnataka seamer S. Aravind will be making their international debuts in the upcoming home series against South Africa.

While Gurkeerat was part of the squad for the first three ODIs, Aravind was picked for the T20 internationals by the Sandeep Patil-led BCCI selection committee which met today to pick the limited overs squads. The 72-day tour by South Africa, comprising three T20s, five ODIs and four Tests, begins with a T20I at Dharamsala on October 2.

The limited overs series will also witness the return of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the skipper after a three-month hiatus. This will be his first international appearance as since the series loss against Bangladesh in June. He recently starred in a charity match in England, scoring a 22-ball 38 that won him the man of the match award.

Ravindra Jadeja, who was dropped for the Zimbabwe tour, continues to be out of the team while Harbhajan Singh was recalled to the T20 squad. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra, following his impressive show in Sri Lanka, was named in both the squads. Mishra will replace leggie Karn Sarma in the T20 squad.

Seamer Dhawal Kulkarni and Varun Aaron, who were in the squad for the Bangladesh tour, were dropped from both the squads whereas fellow pacer Umesh Yadav was picked for the ODIs.
