Hyderabad Cricket Association XI, led by Ambati Rayudu, scored an emphatic seven-wicket win over Air India in the final to win the Coromandel King all-India Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup limited-overs cricket tournament at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Thursday.

Chasing a challenging 268 on a perfect one-day pitch, HCA XI stumbled early setback when opener Akshath Reddy, missing the line of the inswinger, was cleaned up by medium-pacer Gaurav Kumar in the eighth over.

But, southpaw Tanmay Agarwal continued his impressive run in this edition scoring a disciplined 84 (82b, 5x4, 1x6) and put on a 140-run stand for the second wicket with another southpaw B. Sandeep (71, 81b, 4x4, 1x6) which effectively shut Air India out of contention.

Later, the free-stroking wicketkeeper-batsman K. Sumanth and Rayudu ensured that they there were no more hiccups after the fall of third wicket of Sandeep at 195 in 35th over.

Earlier, put in to bat, Air India scored 267 for eight thanks to openers Naman Ojha (62, 80b, 5x4, 2x6), for whom the venue is like a second home being a prominent member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, and Manvinder Bisla (56, 71b, 7x4).

But, what really propped the Air India total was a cameo by the big-hitting Subodh Bhati who struck a quickfire nine-ball 29 with three sixes and two fours in the slog overs.

The winner got Rs. 5 lakhs, the runner-up Rs 3 lakhs and the semifnalists Rs. 1 lakh each.

Justice L. Narasimha Reddy and the HCA President Dr. G. Vivekanand gave away the trophies and the cheques.

The scores:  Air India 267 for eight in 50 overs (Naman Ojha 62, Manvinder Bisla 56, Hiten Dalal 35, Lalit Yadav 38 not out) lost to HCA XI 273 for three in 47.1 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 84, B. Sandeep 71, K. Sumanth 60 not out, Ambati Rayudu 35 not out).
