Fifty-nine wickets in 10 Tests. Two fifers in a Test match. Mohammad Abbas has clearly raised the bar of pace bowling in red-ball cricket.
The Pakistan speedster — who became the first bowler in international cricket to claim 15 wickets in a Test series in the UAE — earned praises from Proteas pace great Dale Steyn for his exploits against Australia in the ongoing series.
Abbas ran through the Australian batting order on the fourth day of the second Test which set the tone for Pakistan’s 373-run win.
Steyn believes Abbas will soon become the No. 1 bowler in Test cricket.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan also heaped praises on the 28-year-old.
