India lost in-form Rohit Sharma and K. L. Rahul early after opting to bat against Afghanistan in its World Cup match in Southampton on Saturday.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman castled Rohit in the fifth over for 1. The Indian opener who had scored two centuries earlier in the tournament was foxed with the delivery that spun away after pitching.

Rahul perished while tring a reverse sweep off Mohammad Nabi, caught at short third man for 30 off 53 balls — leaving India at 64/2 in 14.2 overs.

India, who is unbeaten so far in this World Cup, made one change by bringing in Mohammed Shami in place of an injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Afghanistan, bottom of the 10-team World Cup table, made two changes, bringing in Hazratullah Zazai and Aftab Alam for Noor Ali Zadran and Dawlat Zadran.
