Bangladesh coach Steve Rhodes said that “there were a lot of disappointed faces in the change room” following the defeat against India which pushed his wards towards the World Cup’s exit door. But he took heart from the fight that the team dished out. Rhodes spoke to the media at Edgbaston here on Tuesday night.
The futile fight
We were up against the number one team, we pushed them but we made some mistakes and ultimately it was a lot of hard work in the end. We did fantastically well after that blitz from Rohit (Sharma) and they could have even scored 370 or 380. We were delighted that we came back but we had to start well, you need that against India.
Tamim dropping Rohit
Any drop can be costly and I was praying that he would hit another up in the air. Rohit (Sharma), what a wonderful batsman he is! Another thing is Tamim (Iqbal) has a safe pair of hands but he is human and he dropped. I too have dropped many catches during my career.
The last clash
I am looking forward to the Pakistan game. They have run into form but we want to leave these shores with a victory.
