The start to Bangladesh's World Cup 2019 match against Afghanistan was delayed briefly due to steady drizzle. However, the forecast looks promising for Bangladesh's must-win match against Gulbadin Naib and Co at the Hampshire Bowl.

"There will be patchy rain this morning for the Southampton area but a largely dry afternoon," a British Met official said.

"Rather cloudy too but some hazy sunshine at times, top temperatures today around 21 Celsius. Patchy rain later this evening," the official added.

India's match against New Zealand at Trent Bridge on was the fourth match of World Cup 2019 to be abandoned so far, and the third to be called off without a ball being bowled.

This has already surpassed the previous highest number of washed-out matches in a World Cup - two in 1992 and 2003.
