England skipper Eoin Morgan has been found wanting on the bounce in back-to-back matches in the World Cup.

Morgan was under the cosh facing Australia's Mitchell Starc at Lord's during England's chase on Monday. The southpaw looked tentative from the start against Starc and ended up top-edging a 147-kmph bouncer to the fine-leg fielder. His stay lasted just seven deliveries as the host crashed to a 64-run defeat.

His former teammate Kevin Pietersen was critical of Morgan's approach stating the batsman looked 'scared' against Starc.

On Sunday at Edgbaston, India pacer Mohammed Shami  greeted Morgan to the crease with two well-directed bouncers. Morgan did not engage with either. Shami then set him up with three successive full deliveries before unleashing a bouncer to which Morgan got out hooking on the front foot again.
