Rohit Sharma hits fan during century, makes up with autographed hat

Rohit Sharma gave away an autographed hat to Meena, a spectator who was struck by a ball the Indian opener had hit for a six.

India progressed to the semifinals of the World Cup 2019 with a 28-run win over Bangladesh at Edgbaston on Wednesday. Rohit Sharma was at his fluent best as he hit 104 off 92 balls, his fourth of the tournament, as India posted 314/9 in fifty overs.

During his blistering knock, which included seven boundaries and five sixes, one of the Rohit's sixes hit Meena, one of the spectators. After the match ended, Rohit walked up to her and presented her with an autographed hat.

The Indian vice-captain also met Charulatha Patel, an 87-year old fan, who was spotted in the stands enthusiastically cheering for the men in blue.

India will play its final group stage match against Sri Lanka on Saturday at Headingley.
