India completed a 31-run win on the final day of the first Test against Australia at Adelaide Oval to go 1-0 up in the four-match series. This is the first time in over seven decades that an Indian team has won the first Test of an away Test series in Australia.

Here are the Twitter reactions of Virender Sehwag and V. V. S. Laxman, who were part of the Indian team which won at this venue on the 2003-04 on the tour of Australia, and others from the cricket community after R. Ashwin took the final wicket to seal the win.

Cheteshwar Pujara won the man-of-the-match award, just as Rahul Dravid, India's No. 3 batsman in the 2003 Test at Adelaide Oval, had done when India last won here.
