• Result: Pakistan beats India by 5 wickets
  • PAK 156/4 after 18 overs: Arshdeep Singh what have you done! He puts down a dolly and hands Asif Ali a life after a dramatic 18th over. Ravi Bishnoi finishes with excellent figures of 4-0-26-1. Pakistan needs 26 in 12 balls.
  • PAK 148/4 after 17 overs: Hardik Pandya strikes and he gets the prized wicket of Mohammad Rizwan to bring India back into the game. Rizwan walks back for a fantastic 51-ball 71 and he has done his job. But, India will believe they are still in this game. Nothing can get better than this. This is India vs Pakistan. Brace for a humdinger!
  • PAK 139/3 after 16 overs: The return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar has changed the complexion of the game as he comes back to pick Mohammad Nawaz. But it might be a tad late as Pakistan needs 43 runs from 24. A couple of good overs coupled with a couple of wickets, the match will swing India’s way. But Pakistan would ideally fancy their chances as they have wickets in hand. It’s Pakistan’s game to win unless they press the panic button.
  • PAK 119/2 after 14 overs: The fifty-run partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz is up and Pakistan is running away with the game at the moment. Rizwan has kept them in the hunt despite his injury and India is struggling to break the partnership on a belter of a track. Wickets will be the key for India while Pakistan will believe that with Rizwan smoking away, it is still in the game. 63 runs are needed off 36 balls and this match is going all the down to the wire.
  • PAK 76/2 after 10 overs: Chahal strikes and he has got the big wicket of Fakhar Zaman. What a time to get the wicket. The Indians are ecstatic, Chahal gives a long stare to Fakhar as he hit straight to Virat Kohli, who was stationed at wide long-on. A crucial wicket for India and credit to Chahal for bowling slow and despite Fakhar dancing down the track, the batsman couldn’t get just enough elevation.
  • PAK 44/1 after 6 overs: Ravi Bishnoi has got the prized scalp of Babar Azam and India has the breakthrough. There was a bit of deliberation about whether it was a fair delivery or not but in the end it was a fair one with Rohit Sharma taking a simple catch at mid-wicket. Fakhar Zaman joins Mohammad Rizwan and India will aim to make further inroads. They have managed to keep Pakistan quiet but wickets will be key as the pitch is supporting the batsmen and Pakistan will fancy the run chase.
  • PAK 19/0 after 3 overs: Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have given Pakistan a fine start but India will eye an early breakthrough. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is bowling in tandem with Arshdeep Singh but Rohit will be tempted to bring spin into the attack early.
  • End of Innings: IND 181/7 after 20 overs: India will be satisfied with the kind of score they have posted and thanks to a sublime half-century from Kohli who made a 60-ball 44 and helped India rake up a challenging total. The start was provided by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as India was up and running in the Powerplay. Although the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya failed to fire, Kohli dropped anchor and played an excellent innings as he recorded back-to-back half-centuries. Fakhar Zaman was guilty of letting go of two boundaries and we will wait and watch if that will cost Pakistan. India will back its bowlers to defend the total. Back in a bit.
  • IND 164/5 after 18 overs: Virat Kohli has hit his second consecutive half-century and that should boost the confidence of the former India captain. He gets to the landmark in style as he gets his wrists into play and clears the fence over the cow corner. He is back to his best and this is the Kohli of the old. Excellent running between the wickets and this has been an exceptional knock.
  • IND 118/3 after 13 overs: Pakistan storms back with the wickets of Pant and Hardik Pandya. Shadab Khan picks our Rishabh who falls for an unnecessary reverse and then Mohammad Hasnain removed Hardik for a duck with Mohammad Nawaz taking a sharp catch at mid-wicket. India needs some big overs with Deepak Hooda joining a well-set Kohli.
  • IND 118/3 after 13 overs: Kohli and Pant have added 27 runs this is a brisk partnership and India has gained the momentum back. Both batsmen have picked a boundary each from the over of Naseem Shah with Pant exhibiting his power. Hardik Pandya is warming up and India is ready for the finishing touches.
  • IND 93/3 after 10 overs: Pakistan fights back with the prized scalp of Suryakumar Yadav and India is in a spot of bother. Mohammad Nawaz brings Pakistan back into the match as Suryakumar hots straight down the throat of Asif Ali at backward square. Surya was looking in good touch but in a high-pressure game, he falls. Rishabh Pant is in the middle and this partnership will be the key for India. Kohli needs to step up.
  • IND 88/2 after 9 overs: The fall of KL Rahul hasn’t affected the momentum of the game as Suryakumar Yadav is continuing from where he left the other night and Kohli is happy to play the second fiddle. India has got a start and it can’t afford to lose wickets. Important for Kohli to keep nudging and Suryakumar will look to bat deep as the innings progresses.
  • IND 62/1 after 6 overs: Haris Rauf strikes and Pakistan finally have the prized scalp of Rohit Sharma who departs for an excellent 16-ball 28. Rohit perished while further trying to up the ante and the new aggressive approach from India has given the team benefits. India won’t mind losing Rohit as Rahul has got a start. Out walks Virat Kohli and he is off the mark with a single.
  • IND 46/0 after 4 overs: Fantastic start from India and both Rohit and Rahul are looking in great touch. Both the India openers have bisected the gaps with precision and have found boundaries at ease. Going aerial when required and using the deft touches to perfection. Superb start for India but the key will be to carry on with the momentum.
  • IND 11/0 after 1 over: Early signs of aggression from Rohit Sharma as he steps down the track and attacks Naseem Shah as India begins proceedings in style. Rohit makes his intentions clear as he hits the first six of the match as the ball sails over the deep mid-wicket boundary. Super start from India.
  • Right then we are done and dusted with the National Anthems and out walk the Indian openers. KL Rahul along with Rohit Sharma and it will be Naseem Shah who will start proceedings with the new ball. Here we go!
  • Toss: Pakistan wins toss, opts to bowl first. Deepak Hooda and Ravi Bishnoi are in the side and Hardik Pandya comes back.
  • Playing XI
  • India: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh
  • Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Babar Azam(C), Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah
  • The players are warming up and Hardik Pandya is looking in great shape taking sharp catches. He is such an important cog in the wheel and what a turnaround this has been for the all-rounder.
  • India will be making changes in their Playing XI and it would be interesting to see if R Ashwin makes the cut. We are just 20 minutes away from the all-important toss.
  • Will Rishabh Pant play today? And if yes then in whose place is the biggest question. We are gearing up for the big battle with the toss in less than an hour’s time. Axar Patel is the likely replacement for Ravindra Jadeja but it remains to be seen how the Indian team management goes about it.
  • This is going to be Super Sunday and India will be eyeing a double after winning the first encounter. It has an issue as Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out as the star all-rounder will be undergoing a knee surgery.
