HIGHLIGHTS

RESULT: INDIA HAS BEEN BEATEN BY FOUR RUNS IN THE THIRD ODI. THE SIDE SUFFERED A 3-0 ODI SERIES WHITEWASH.

INDIA INNINGS

IND 283 in 49.2 overs: Prasidh runs a quick single off the first ball. 5 off 5 required now. Chahal holes out to Miller and that'll be it. SA wins by four runs.

Chahar seems to be in tears.South Africa completes a 3-0 whitewash in the ODIs against India at home. They have been phenomenal throughout the Tour, having also clinched the Test series 2-1 earlier.

IND 282/9 in 49 overs: Phehlukwayo gets away with what would have been a definite wide delivery as Bumrah plays at it. My goodness! That's the end of Bumrah, who has hit this straight down the throat of Bavuma. It is Bavuma yet again! Prasidh strides in with seven to get off nine balls. India needs six off the last over.

IND 280/8 in 48 overs: Is there a final twist in the tale? He almost got India home but a mistimed shot sees the back of Chahar. Chahal joins Bumrah and will be feeling all the pressure now. Pushes for a single and brings Bumrah back on strike. 8 required off 14 now. Two runs from this over only.

IND 278/7 in 47 overs: Bumrah is quick to go upstairs as umpire Erasmus raises his finger after an appeal for caught-behind. There's no bat. Bumrah breathes. The next delivery is a no ball! Magala has overstepped. A cardinal sin at this stage of the game. Chahar, in the meantime, gets to his fifty off 31 balls. There is a dead look on his face even as his teammates applaud. He knows he still has a lot to do. The fifty-run partnership is up as well after a ball. A short delivery from Magala next and Bumrah's top-edge sails over de Kock's head for four. The Indian dressing room has come alive all of a sudden.

IND 267/7 in 46 overs: Ngidi starts off with a huge wide. He follows it up with another wide, a ball later. Wide of the off stump again, the penultimate ball, and all it needed was half a bat on it to run down to the boundary. Four more past short third man! 14 comes from that over and the Indians have started to believe again. India needs 21 off 24 now.

IND 253/7 in 45 overs: Beaten off the first ball, Chahar picks a boundary in the next, bringing up the 250 for India in turn. Bavuma, meanwhile, is gesturing Magala to take pace off the ball. The idea will be to provide nothing to the batters to work with.

IND 247/7 in 44 overs: Chahar slashes hard at a slow ball from Pretorius and that falls just short of square third. My, oh, my! Chahar connects and how. Two back-to-back SIXes suggest it may not be all over yet.

IND 231/7 in 43 overs: Bavuma is doing all the catching for South Africa. He seems to be everywhere! Roll of the fingers from Ngidi and Jayant has hit this straight to Bavuma at mid-off. Bumrah tees off, guiding Ngidi's cutter to the third man fence.

IND 223/6 in 42 overs: Pretorius slips in another decent over - only four off it.

IND 219/6 in 41 overs: Two back-to-back boundaries for Chahar; albeit the first came off an outside edge.

IND 210/6 in 40 overs: Pretorius almost gets Suryakumar! A mistimed drive falls just short of the man at short cover. He, however, does ultimately get the better of Surya. The India batter attempts to go for a helicopter-ish loft on the leg side but a leading edge only sees the ball lob to Bavuma at mid-off. This might just be 'Game Over' for India.

IND 208/5 in 39 overs: SKY gets his skates on and efficiently converts a single into a double much to the joy of the Indian team dugout.

IND 203/5 in 38 overs: Shreyas hits Magala's first ball straight down Phehlukwayo's throat. SA has now managed to break reveal the Indian tail. And SKY continues on his merry way! Bends a bit and guides Magala's short delivery off his blade and over de Kock's head to the fence. That brings up the 200 for India.

IND 195/4 in 37 overs: WHAT. A. SHOT. SKY waits and waits for Phehlukwayo's delivery and wrists it towards the square leg boundary. The pair sneak another non-existent single. The confidence shows but Dravid would be worried there's not much batting left in the tank.

IND 186/4 in 36 overs: A quick single from Iyer and SKY. SKY hits the straightest of drives off the next ball for four. Fearless.

IND 180/4 in 35 overs: Shreyas slaps Phehlukwayo through cover point off the last ball to negate an otherwise tidy over.

IND 172/4 in 34 overs: Magala's quicker delivery has been inside-edged past the stumps for four. SKY heaves a sigh of relief. Drinks are on the field.

IND 168/4 in 33 overs: SKY looks to counter Markram with the sweep. Fails to make contact off the first delivery, but picks up a couple off the next. And with a chance to cement his spot in sight, SKY launches Markram into outer space. That is a huge SIX!

IND 157/4 in 32 overs: Kohli is absolutely livid with himself! And Maharaj is the man again. Flummoxed by the turn, Kohli gets a leading edge that balloons up to Bavuma running back from cover point. Suryakumar Yadav comes to the crease.

IND 155/3 in 31 overs: A decent over from Markram, this. Just three runs come off it.

IND 152/3 in 30 overs: Kohli pulls up with a cramp. Does a bit of stretching and looks like he is okay to continue. Oh, that's a wonderful delivery from Maharaj! Gets it to turn and it just swishes past Kohli's outside edge. Even the former India captain is amused.

IND 147/3 in 29 overs: Interesting move. Markram, SA's sixth bowler, has his work cut out as he walsk in to bowl his first over today. Exceptional footwork on display from Kohli as he dispatches Maharaj to the boundary with considerable ease off the fifth ball.

IND 140/3 in 28 overs: Shreyas and Kohli take a couple of singles each in Maharaj's eighth over.

IND 136/3 in 27 overs: Shreyas gets his first boundary of the day. Phehlukwayo pitches it short and outside off, and Iyer unleashes a glorious pull past Magala in front of square.

IND 129/3 in 26 overs: Shreyas finally gets off strike in the fifth ball of the over. This has been a very good over from Maharaj, with only two coming from it.

IND 127/3 in 25 overs : Phehlukwayo continues. FOUR! Kohli cuts away from his body outside off and beats the off side field to fetch four. Single for Kohli with a signature cover drive that gets him a single. Fifty off 63 balls and his second of the series. Single to Shreyas to end the over; he is rushed on the pull and miscues it.

IND 121/3 in 24 overs: Some turn for Maharaj there as he takes it away from Shreyas on a couple of occasions. Three singles from the over.

IND 118/3 in 23 overs: OUT! Dhawan gets a top edge off the pull and it goes straight up to de Kock. Shikhar Dhawan c Quinton de Kock b Andile Phehlukwayo 61(73b 5x4 1x6). Pant is the new man in. Kohli returns strike after a couple of dot balls. OUT! Gone! Pant is out first ball as he steps out and chips it straight to deep extra cover. Rishabh Pant c Sisanda Magala b Andile Phehlukwayo 0(1b 0x4 0x6).

IND 116/1 in 22 overs: A couple of singles to start Maharaj's over. Dhawan gets a little impatient and miscues a reverse-sweep and the ball loops up and falls just short of gully after going off his gloves.

IND 113/1 in 21 overs: Phehlukwayo in to bowl. Kohli shimmies and cuts it between point and cover for one. Dhawan slashes at a wide on outside off behind point and Maharaj pulls off a brilliant dive in the deep to keep it to two. A brace for Kohli to end the over.

IND 107/1 in 20 overs: Four singles from Maharaj's over and the batters easily eke out the runs. A valuable partnership this - similar to the one in the first ODI - but the duo will need to stick out this time around with India's middle-order still a little undercooked.

IND 103/1 in 19 overs: WIDE! Magala darts it outside leg first up. Dhawan tucks a fuller one on the legs to square leg for a couple. Pulled and short of a sliding Rassie at deep square leg but he keeps it in and just a single. FOUR! Kohli pulls this away with disdain to the mid wicket fence. FOUR! That was lucky! Kohli gets a thick edge on the drive on a length ball and it blazes over a leaping first slip and to the rope behind. He berates himself after that loose shot.

IND 89/1 in 18 overs: Maharaj continues after the break. Three singles from the over. Dhawan tucks one on leg side to bring up his 50 off 58 balls to continue his purple patch upon his return to the side.

DRINKS BREAK - INDIA 86/1 IN 17 OVERS, NEEDS 202 RUNS TO WIN IN 33 OVERS

IND 86/1 in 17 overs: Dhawan whips it to fine leg for two as Magala slides it down leg. Rises with the bounce and pulls but finds the man on the square leg fence who keeps it to just a single. Tucked away by Kohli to fine and they collect a couple after some good running between the wickets. Beaten! Expansive drive outside off and Kohli is deceived by the extra bounce. Too straight and easily clipped to fine for a single by Kohli. Drifted on the pads again and one more for Dhawan at fine leg.

IND 79/1 in 16 overs: Kohli and Dhawan nudge Maharaj for four singles as he doesn't offer much room with a tight line on and around off.

IND 75/1 in 15 overs: Cracking shot by Kohli but well-stopped by Miller in the covers to keep it to a single. He got on top of the bounce and punched on the off side after mistiming a couple of flourishing strokes on the leg side. FOUR! Dhawan edges it past the slips and it runs away to the third man boundary.

IND 70/1 in 14 overs: Maharaj into the attack. Kohli steps out to drive through covers for one. FOUR! Floated outside off and Dhawan presses forward to get to the pitch of the ball and caresses it through covers. Four singles to end the over. Fifty partnership comes up between Dhawan and Kohli.

IND 61/1 in 13 overs: Kohli stands tall and punches off the backfoot through covers for one. Dhawan drives it arrow straight and it knocks into the stumps at the non-striker's end. Dhawan cuts uppish and collects a couple at deep point. NO-BALL! Dhawan looked to slap the free-hit on the leg side but gets a bottom edge onto his stumps and they scurry for a single.

IND 55/1 in 12 overs: Kohli comes down the track again to Pretorius and works it to deep mid wicket for one. Angling into Dhawan from a length outside off and he taps it on the leg side for one more. Kohli returns strike with a single at mid off. Three singles to start off with. Three dots to end the over as Pretorius pins Dhawan back with short of length deliveries on and outside off.

IND 52/1 in 11 overs: Magala into the attack. WIDE! Strays down leg side first ball. Kohli collects a single with another flick through mid wicket. Magala nips it into Dhawan from a length on middle stump to square him up.

IND 50/1 in 10 overs: Ngidi walks off the field after that over and Kyle Verreynne is on for him. Kohli picks up a couple with a flick to square leg as Pretorius over-pitches on the legs. Another single on the leg side for him. FOUR! Too full and wide and Dhawan leans into the drive and finds the gap through covers. Fifty up for India in 9.4 overs.

IND 43/1 in 9 overs: Close! A slow and low full-toss and it just misses Kohli's off stump as he misses out on the flick on the on side. Driven to cover on the front foot and steals a single. Angling into Dhawan from round the wicket and he taps it on the off side.

IND 41/1 in 8 overs: SIX! Dhawan dances down the wicket and launches Pretorius over long on and all the way. FOUR! Room outside off and Dhawan cuts it behind point with a shimmy down the track.

IND 29/1 in 7 overs: A bit of a frenetic start from Kohli here. He shimmies down the wicket and guides it to point. Dhawan tucks it off his toes behind square leg for a couple to end Ngidi's over.

IND 26/1 in 6 overs: Seam-up delivery from Pretorius in the channel and Dhawan pulls out from a prod in the nick of time. Pretorius gets a couple of balls to nip into Kohli. Dhawan misses out on another half-volley outside off, driven it straight to cover.

IND 24/1 in 5 overs: OUT! A bit of extra bounce outside off and Rahul pokes and edges it to Malan in the slips. KL Rahul c Janneman Malan b Lungi Ngidi 9(10b 2x4 0x6). FOUR! A flourishing flick to square leg from Kohli and he finds a boundary off his first ball. Two singles to end the over.

IND 18/0 in 4 overs: Dhawan shimmies down the wicket and chips it over cover and point for a couple. Half-volley outside off, Dhawan connects the drive but straight to the man at mid off. Driven again on the front foot and finds the cover fielder this time. FOUR! Connects and finds the gap between point-cover this time.

IND 12/0 in 3 overs: Good comeback by Ngidi after that first wayward over. Keeps it on a length in the channel to Dhawan from round the wicket. Just a couple of singles as he strays slightly on the legs on a couple of occasions.

IND 10/0 in 2 overs: Pretorius from the other end. A couple of loose full-tosses to start with but Dhawan cannot get them away. Sliding down leg and Rahul misses the flick; one leg-bye. Another full-toss outside off and Dhawan and straight to mid-off. Two good balls to end the over; one nips in and the other wobbles away to beat Dhawan's outside edge.

IND 8/0 in 1 over: Back with the chase. Ngidi with the new ball. Ngidi to Rahul from over the wicket. Wide outside off first up, just inside the tramline and Rahul shoulder arms. FOUR! Width outside off and Rahul slashes through point. Tighter on off stump on a length and Rahul stays back and defends. FOUR! A loosener on the pads and Rahul glides it behind to the fine leg rope.

Stay tuned! The match will resume shortly.

TARGET: INDIA NEEDS 288 TO WIN

SOUTH AFRICA INNINGS

SA 287 in 49.5 overs: Miller starts off the last over with a boundary. 300 is clearly the plan. Miller goes for the skies again. Kohli, however, denies him further runs with an exceptional catch at long-off. And another! South Africa has been bowled out as Magala picks out Rahul at cover.

SA 283/8 in 49 overs: Maharaj and Miller keep the scoreboard ticking with singles in Bumrah's over. Bumrah strikes! Maharaj, looking to go for the biggie, holes out to Kohli. Magala comes to the crease.

SA 279/7 in 48 overs: A slower ball from Krishna does the trick! Pretorius, looking to go the distance, finds Suryakumar at deep mid-wicket. Crafty batting from Maharaj, who utilises Prasidh's pace and bounce to pick up four runs from behind the wicket.

SA 271/6 in 47 overs: The minute the ball came off the bat, the sound made it evident it was only headed for the fence. Bumrah bowls this wide and full, and Pretorius does well to slap this through extra cover.

SA 264/6 in 46 overs: Immaculate timing and placement as Miller adds more runs to the South African scorecard. Flicked off his pads, the ball raced away to the fence in no time.

SA 257/6 in 45 overs: There's a big shout as a Bumrah delivery cuts Miller in half! This was banged in short and Miller looked clueless as the ball passed him en route to Pant. A review suggests there was no bat involved.

SA 253/6 in 44 overs: Wide! Too high and Pretorius decides not to have a go at it at the very last moment. Chahar cannot cut the ball off near the ropes as Pretorius gets four more. SA has done well to not let the pressure build since the departure of its last few batters.

SA 246/6 in 43 overs: SA is going after Chahal. This was tossed up, tad wide of off and Miller has lofted this over mid-wicket and into the stands for six. Next, Pretorius targets the googly and pulls it through mid-wicket for four. There was a loud appeal from the bowler for LBW off the last ball but neither the umpire nor Rahul looked interested.

SA 234/6 in 42 overs: Punched through extra cover! A short ball from Shreyas disappears into the boundary.

SA 229/6 in 41 overs: Run out! An excellent throw from Shreyas finds Phehlukwayo well short of the crease. Pretorius joins Miller in the middle.

SA 228/5 in 40 overs: Jayant to bowl out. With only two runs coming from this over, Jayant finishes with figures of 10-0-53-0.

SA 226/5 in 39 overs: Miller and Phehlukwayo avoid taking unnecessary risks, restricting themselves to singles only.

SA 222/5 in 38 overs: An excellent over from Jayant, who is looking to bowl flatter. Only three runs come from the over.

SA 219/5 in 37 overs: The Indians go upstairs after an enthusiastic appeal for Miller's wicket. HawkEye reckons it may have gone on to clip the top of off-stump. Umpire's call means Marais Erasmus' "Not Out" decision holds. The big fish! Shreyas runs to his right from deep mid-wicket and takes a blinder to send vd Dussen back into the hut. Andile Phehlukwayo is in. A leg-slip and slip in place for the new man.

SA 216/4 in 36 overs: Strike bowler Bumrah has been summoned to do some damage control. A fantastic innings comes to an end as Dhawan makes no mistake in the deep. Out comes the thigh-five! Miller, who had faced only two balls in this series, until this, is off the mark straightaway.

SA 212/3 in 35 overs: Chahar has been brought in to bowl his eighth over. A single brings up the fifty for vd Dussen. Chahar strays of off next - wide called. de Kock shuffles towards his left and utilises Chahar's pace to guide the ball to the ropes down fine-leg. 200 up for SA. Oh, and it gets worse. de Kock hammers a four of a front-foot no ball again. WHAT IS HAPPENING? The Free Hit stays as another wide has been fired in. 15 runs come off that over.

SA 197/3 in 34 overs: Pant drops vd Dussen, who gets a feather on the ball, while trying to attempt a reverse sweep.

SA 195/3 in 33 overs: The batters are itching to have a go at Shreyas! The second ball has been pitched short and vd Dussen slaps it through extra cover. The next delivery's a full toss and vd Dussen does well to send it into the first tier. 12 from the over.

SA 183/3 in 32 overs: Jayant is still getting some turn... almost kisses the edge of de Kock's bat en route to Pant's gloves. The South African dances down the track next and dispatches a tossed-up delivery downtown.

SA 174/3 in 31 overs: Shreyas has been brought into the attack. Interesting move. A harmless delivery to start things off brings de Kock on strike. He's got it through and off 108 balls QdK gets his 17th ODI hundred (sixth vs India). This has been a phenomenal knock, thus far, from the Proteas opener.

SA 170/3 in 30 overs: A leg bye has been signalled as de Kock switches to the non-striker's end. The wait continues. Meanwhile, the 100-run partnership comes up between the two off 108 balls. Time for the drinks break.

SA 163/3 in 29 overs: No ball! The last thing India would want to do now is gift freebies to the host. de Kock hammers the Free Hit straight over Krishna's head to bring up his 99 with a six.

SA 154/3 in 28 overs: de Kock brings out the reverse sweep against Chahal. There was nothing wrong with that delivery, but QdK goes for the shot which frustrates a leg-spinner the most nevertheless. QdK slog-sweeps Chahal for another boundary next; one bounce and into the fence.

SA 144/3 in 27 overs: Krishna will be bowling from the Wynberg End now. A mid-on and mid-off is in place for de Kock and two men in catching positions on the offside for vd Dussen. The field changes may have something to do with Krishna's high-arm action and short deliveries. There's the feeling something's gonna give shortly now that de Kock has gone back into his shell for a while now.

SA 141/3 in 26 overs: de Kock, looking to drag it wide of mid-on, miscues. Chahal lets out a smile as another quality over comes to an end.

SA 139/3 in 25 overs: Five singles from Jayant's over as de Kock and vd Dussen continue to pile on the runs.

SA 134/3 in 24 overs: A good over from Chahal, he extracts good turn. FOUR! vd Dussen dispatches the last ball of the over past mid on and to the boundary.

SA 129/3 in 23 overs:FOUR! vd Dussen makes room on the off side and cuts a decent delivery from Jayant to the deep point boundary.

SA 120/3 in 22 overs: Chahal is introduced in the attack. Over the wicket to de Kock. Flights up the first one on off stump and driven through covers for a couple. Floated up on middle and dug out by de Kock for one more at long off. Tucked off his pads by vd Dussen for a single at mid wicket. Tapped to mid off for a single and that's the 50-run partnership off 60 balls.

SA 115/3 in 21 overs: Run out missed! vd Dussen steered that straight to point for a quick single and SKY threw it too wide of Pant. SIX! Insult to injury. de Kock steps down the wicket and pummels it over Jayant's head for a maximum. FOUR! Reverse-swept by de Kock past slips and to the fine leg boundary.

SA 103/3 in 20 overs: WIDE! Springy bouncer going down leg to vd Dussen. FOUR! Short outside off and de Kock ramps it over the keeper and to the third man boundary. 100 up for South Africa in 19.4 overs .

SA 94/3 in 19 overs: Excellent over from Jayant. Constantly asking the batters questions in the channel area. Beats de Kock's sweep with some sharp turn but that was just missing top of leg stump.

SA 93/3 in 18 overs: Here comes Bumrah. Round the wicket to de Kock. More short stuff from Bumrah as he induces a couple of miscued pull shots from de Kock and vd Dussen. de Kock gets a single off the last ball to bring up his half-century off 59 balls.

SA 90/3 in 17 overs: Dropped! A sharp chance missed by Pant as vd Dussen poked outside off and edged it to the keeper. Miscued by de Kock and it loops up and falls short at backward point;  a fumble allows de Kock to return for a couple. Tapped fine on leg side by de Kock for a single to end the over. Another good over by Jayant.

SA 86/3 in 16 overs: FOUR! vd Dussen cuts loose after 11 balls. Full outside off from Prasidh and vd Dussen just leans into the drive through covers. Driven through point this time, not perfectly timed, but two more for vd Dussen. Almost chopped on! Banged in on a length and vd Dussen almost chops it onto his stumps trying to rock back and cut it behind square. Good bouncer from Prasidh to de Kock.

SA 79/3 in 15 overs: Jayant Yadav replaces Chahar. Spin into the attack for the first time in the match. NO-BALL! Jayant oversteps first ball. Good yorker on the free hit and vd Dussen digs it to long on for just a single.

SA 73/3 in 14 overs: India seems to be employing a markedly different strategy as Pradish drags his length back in the over and concedes just a single.

SA 72/3 in 13 overs: OUT! Markram pulls and holes out at deep mid wicket . Chahar gets a second. Aiden Markram c sub (Ruturaj Gaikwad) b Deepak Chahar 15(14b 3x4 0x6). Van der Dussen joins de Kock. He shoulders arms to one that moves away outside off. vd Dussen hops back and pulls the last one to fine leg to get off the mark with a single.

SA 69/2 in 12 overs: Decked in short by Prasidh and de Kock gets a top edge trying to pull and it lands safely at mid wicket. Extra bounce squared up de Kock a bit as he gets a leading edge on it and short of point. FOUR! Very lucky! A thick inside edge misses the stumps and Markram fetches a fortuitous boundary at fine leg.

SA 62/2 in 11 overs: FOUR! Short of length from Chahar and de Kock gets on top of the bounce and thumps it straight down the ground for a boundary. Two bouncers that blaze high over de Kock are called WIDES! Another WIDE! called, this time down leg side.

SA 53/2 in 10 overs: Prasidh replaces Bumrah. Over-pitched and punished down the ground by de Kock for FOUR! Fifty up for the Proteas in 9.4 overs . Flicked to square leg for two more by de Kock.

SA 47/2 in 9 overs: FOUR! Full and straight from Chahar and Markram punches it straight down the ground for a boundary. Five from the over.

SA 42/2 in 8 overs: Markram the new batter faces Bumrah. FOUR! Sliding down leg and Markram's thick inside edge on the flick finds the square leg boundary.

SA 36/2 in 7 overs: OUT! Bavuma is short of his crease and he goes. Temba Bavuma run out (Rahul) 8(12b 1x4 0x6). Rahul effects a direct hit from mid off at the non-striker's end and Bavuma takes a slightly long-winded route and falls short. A couple staight down the ground for de Kock to end the over. Rahul lets it through at mid off and has to scamper to the boundary to parry it back inside. He seems to have pulled something while diving.

SA 34/1 in 6 overs: Tidy over from Bumrah. Refrains from going too full and wide and keeps it on the stumps. Just a single and a brace off the last from the over.

SA 31/1 in 5 overs: de Kock caresses a wide one outside off from Chahar through the covers for a couple. This one is on middle and leg and de Kock works it square on the leg for two more.

SA 25/1 in 4 overs: FOUR! Floated full on the pads by Bumrah and Bavuma flicks it through mid on to find the fence. Good length this one outside off, extra bounce, and Bavuma prods it to third man for one. A late cut gets de Kock one more at third man. A much better length from Bumrah has Bavuma defending off the backfoot.

SA 19/1 in 3 overs: OUT! Chahar moves it away from Malan from a slightly fuller length and he edges it behind. Janneman Malan c Rishabh Pant b Deepak Chahar 1(6b 0x4 0x6). Skipper Bavuma is in at No. 3. He is off the mark straightaway with a single at third man. FOUR! Loosener on the pads, full, and de Kock flicks it with ease through the mid wicket region. The ball has been changed already as the previous one seems to have gone out of shape. FOUR! Chahar looses his line after that wicket. Very wide outside off and very full and de Kock guides it with open face through point.

SA 8/0 in 2 overs: Bumrah from the other end. Angled across to de Kock, full outside off, and defended from the crease. Length, shaping away and de Kock gets a thick outside edge to third man for a single. This one nips into Malan and gets his inside edge onto his pads. Full on the pads, sliding in and tucked to mid wicket by Malan for a single. FOUR! Over-pitched on the pads and de Kock whips it to the square leg boundary.

SA 2/0 in 1 over: Chahar to de Kock from over the wicket. Drifts outside off, beyond the tramline and WIDE first ball. Driven to mid off for a dot. Shapes in a bit from outside off and Chahar finds purchase off the surface straightaway. de Kock is off the mark with a single through covers after he gets a thick leading edge. Edged and short! Length ball on off stump shaped away from Malan, who edged it, but it fell just short of KL Rahul in the slips.

Malan and de Kock will open the batting for the Proteas, as has been the case in the series. South Africans take the knee against racism and discrimination of any kind. Deepak Chahar with the new ball from the Wynberg End.

13:55 IST: Time for the national anthems. It is a bright and sunny day at Newlands and the mercury is expected to rise to 30 degrees celsius.

PITCH REPORT: There is some moisture which will assist the pacers early on but the blistering heat will dry the pitch out over the course of the match, making it much easier for batting.

INDIA PLAYING XI: Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul (c), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Jayant Yadav, Pradish Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.

MATCH PREVIEW

India will look to avoid a cleansweep when it faces South Africa in the third and final One-Day International at Newlands, Cape Town, on Sunday.

India’s strategy in the ODI series so far has looked completely out of sync with the requirements of modern-day white-ball game, batters failing to keep the momentum going in the middle overs and the bowlers, barring Jasprit Bumrah, appearing innocuous.

India has only been able to pick up seven wickets in the two ODIs - four in the first game and three in the second. FULL PREVIEW
