Umesh Yadav played a part in Tamim Iqbal's runout, and picked up the wicket of Mominul Haque, as India inflicted two early jolts on Bangladesh in the first session.

Ishant Sharma provided a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Mahmudullah as India continued its domination in the first session.

Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan provided stability to the Bangladesh innings as they put together a crucial 107-run fifth wicket partnership. Shakib, the more aggressive of the two, fell for 82. Mushfiqur is unbeaten on 81 at the close.

Like always, Ravichandran Ashwin came to India's rescue, forcing Shakib to hole out in the deep.

Youngster Mehedi Hasan Miraz (left) played with maturity, completing his half-century and providing useful support to Mushfiqur. The pair, unbeaten, has added 87 runs for the seventh wicket, carrying Bangladesh past the 300-mark.
