The Indian batsmen in the nets on Wednesday afternoon had a surprise visitor in Amit Mishra.

The vastly experienced leg-spinner, who last featured in India’s home ODI series against New Zealand last year, bowled to Rohit Sharma at the nets and even discussed a few things with his old friends.

In the National Cricket Academy for a rehabilitation programme, Mishra came over to the adjacent M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and stayed back till the end of India’s training session. He was also seen discussing a thing or two with coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharat Arun.

Mishra, who has an envious record against Glenn Maxwell — dismissing him four times — also had a brief chat with Yuzvendra Chahal, who has made Maxwell his bunny in the ongoing series.

“I am here for rehabilitation, so just came over to the ground,” Mishra said.
