The first batch of Australian cricketers, who were not part of the Bangladesh tour and arrived in the city on Friday, were out in the blazing sun for a nearly three-hour practice session on Sunday in preparation for next week’s ODI against India.

One-day specialists like Aaron Finch and James Faulkner, along with pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile, leg-spinner Adam Zampa, Travis Head and Marcus Stoinis had a two-hour nets session under the watchful eyes of batting coach and former England batsman Graeme Hick.

After a brief fielding session, most of those who showed up for practice on Sunday had a good hit against local bowlers that included medium-pacers like R. Silambarasan and Athisayaraj Davidson who played in the TNPL. The rest of the Australian players will have a practice session on Monday ahead of the warm-up game against Board President’s XI on Tuesday.
