Umran Malik will make his India debut in the first T20I against Ireland.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar's coverage of the first T20I between India and Ireland from Dublin.

That's it for today folks. Looking forward to the next and last game of this series on Tuesday.

Josh Little is back and Hooda drives him nonchalantly for a boundary. Just two more needed.  And one more drive down the off side. Hooda seals the deal. An extremely comfortable chase for India with 16 balls to spare. Hooda ends on 47, missing out on a well deserving half-centruy.

103/3 from 9 overs. Just six more runs needed.

Dinesh Karthik out in the middle. Probably the easiest finishing job for DK this year. Olphert has been convincing with the ball after that first-ball six. But Dinesh Karthik decides to put a bit of a stain on it. Glorious cut through the covers for a boundary.

Josh Little back into the attack. Hooda cuts him away with ease for four. Does one better two balls later as he ramps one over the keeper for one more four. It is all too easy for the Indian side at this moment. It is Hardik's turn now. Smashes a six over long off. Little thinks he got his man. Raps Pandya in his back pad. Umpire gives it in favour of the bowler and Pandya refers it straight away. But it goes in Ireland's favour. A little too late it seems. 94/3 after 8

78/2 after 7. Just 31 needed from 30 balls

Conor Olphert comes in and Deepak Hooda welcomes him with a flick for a six . Not the way he must have imagined his first ever ball on his debut.  But Olphert has redeemed himself since, beating the edges of both Pandya and Hooda and almost forces a miscue from the Indian skipper.

69/2 after 6 overs

First look of spin from the Irish. Andy McBrine comes in and Pandya shows no respect. Deposits him into the crowd for a six. Inspired by his captain, Deepak Hooda follows. Steps out and sends one into the orbit. Another six to the tally.  Make that three!! Hardik punishes McBrine again, pummels it out of the ground. No room for error when you are against Pandya.

48/2 after 5 overs

Craig Young given another go by the skipper.  Almost gets another one as Hooda drives one just in front of Stirling.  Irish bowlers have held back things a bit after Kishan's early onslaught.

45/2 after four overs

Mark Adair continues. Deepak Hooda decides to get a move on and gets two boundaries in the process, one of them a lucky edge just beyond the short third man.

35/3 after three overs

Young on a hat-trick, but Hardik Pandya deals with it with ease. And a receives a bonus and Young is found to have overstepped giving Pandya a free swing and he converts it into a boundary.

And has one wicket got them another one? Suryakumar Yadav is welcomed with a beauty of an in swinger which strikes him on the pad, Reviews it, but DRS favours the umpire and the Irish team. 30/2 at 2.5

SKY's comeback cut down on the first ball.

Craig Young introduced and Ishan Kishan goes after him straight away. A four and a six in the first two balls. the maximum skims off a tent and out of the ground. Kishan seems to be in a hurry to finish this off. But his urgency brings his downfalll. Swings across the line and sees his stumps broken and Young has his revenge. First wicket for Ireland.  30/1 at 2.4

20/0 after two overs.

Mark Adair gets a go.  Keeps it night and tidy after the expensive first over.

15/0 after the first over.

Josh Little with the ball for Ireland. And India gets their first boundary off the third ball of the innings through Ishan Kishan. Pulls it off the back foot. And sends the next on out of the park , SIX!! . Great start to the chase for India. To make it even better, he cuts the next one to the fence. Three consecutive boundaries for Ishan!!

Surprise! Surprise! It is Ishan Kishan and Deepak Hooda who will start off the chase for India. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be at No.3, probably.

Harry Tector is the star of the show as he drags his side back into the contest after Ireland were three down in four overs for just 22 runs. 64 not out for him.

Ireland - 108/4 at the end of 12 hours.

Avesh Khan with the last over and Tector reaches his fifty with a knock down long on. Third 50 in T20I for the youngster, was in complete command. And now he opts to show off his innovative side, reverse paddles it between the point and short third-man for a four. IPL scouts, take note!! 11.4 Tector skies one and it looked like Axar had it in is grasp, but spills it on the way down. Tector makes him pay as he slams a low full toss over the off side fence for a thumping SIX!!

91/4 after 11 overs.

Chahal with his last over. Tector's wicket might be the key here. But he and the new man, George Dockrell, opts to play him out. Yuzi ends his spell and have conceded just 11 runs. MISERLY!

87/4 after 10 overs

Tector slams Bhuvi through the covers for yet another four . He follows that with a lofted cover drive for a six. 79m!! . Tector seems to be seeing the ball so much better than all his teammates. 47 from 26 the 22-year-old so far.

73/4 after 9 overs.

Chahal brought back in! Damage control needed for Pandya right now.  And Chahal delivers the goods for the skipper. Tucker holes out in the deep. Axar Patel holds on to the catch comfortably.  72/4 at 8.4. Another exemplary over from the leggie.

69/3 after 8 overs.

Lorcan Tucker gets into the act. Back-to-back sixes into the leg side for the Irishman. The Irish innings is well and truly back on.

Hardik Pandya brings himself back on. Last five overs. Does this mean we are into the death overs going by T20 convention?

56/3 after 7 overs.

Hardik Pandya introduces Yuzvendra Chahal.  He bowls an incident free over. Typical Chahal control and the Irish batsmen shows restraint. Just four runs of the over.

52/3 after 6 overs. Halfway point of the first innings, Tector has driven Ireland forward with his classy batting.

Umran Malik is finally here at the international stage. He starts off with a 148 Kmph with ease.  5.3 Umran drifts down the leg, clips the pad and goes off for a four.  Tector welcomes Umran with a straight drive. Another four. Tector tears into Umran again. Pulls him in front of square for six with absolute disdain. Not  the dream start for Umran.

34/3 after 5 overs.

Tector goes after Axar and is rewarded with two boundaries. The second a glorious inside out lofted drive. Tector holds a pose, admiring his work. ELEGANCE.

Spin introduced straight after powerplay. Axar Patel  gets a go.

22/3 after 4 overs. Powerplay done. India on top!!

3.5 Delaney edges one! Avesh Khan gets one too. DK gobbles it up with ease. 22/3. Ireland is struggling to get going.

3.2 Harry Tector swings and edges one over the slips. FOUR! Ireland need more of this intent and maybe a bit of this luck.

Avesh Khan introduced. No sight yet of Umran Malik.

17/2 after three overs

Bhuvneshwar continues. Irish batsmen are finding it extremely hard to deal with Bhuvi's swing and control. These are conditions tailor made for him. After two overs he has conceded only two runs!! And one of them is an overthrow.

14/2 after two overs

Delany drives Pandya through the covers with ease. Ireland needs a few more of this to overcome the early setbacks.

Hardik Pandya brings himself on. Stirling goes after him and gets a four down the off. Goes for it again, didn't time it as well as he hoped. Loops an easy catch for Deepak Hooda and Pandya becomes the first Indian captain to take a wicket in men's T20I.  Ireland are already two down!!

6/2 after 1.2 overs

Once more??  Gareth Delany is at the receiving end of a Bhuvneshwar in swinger. Strikes him on the pad. Umpire doesn't relent. Goes for a review but wickets are missing. A review wasted, but a superb over for India

1/1 after one over.

Bhuvneshwar begins with his trademark control. Keeps a tight leash on Stirling and gets a go at Balbirnie. Swings one back in to take the top of off! Beauty!

Ireland 1/1 after 0.5

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to start the proceedings for India. Paul Stirling and captain Andy Balbirnie are the openers for Ireland.

Minutes away from the start. Fingers crossed for a smooth game from here on.

Dinesh Karthik seen with the big gloves on. Almost certain that he will take his usual position behind the stumps.

The game is back on!! It is going to be a 12 overs a side . Tentative starting time is 11:20 PM IST .

Look who is in the house for the game! It is BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

MATCH PREVIEW

India's dual team experiment is set to get a fresh story as the T20 side, led by Hardik Pandya, will play Ireland today at Dublin in the first of the two T20I matches between both.

The Indian side, coached by NCA chief VVS Laxman, should be expected to put in a strong show, despite the absence of most of their main stars, and preserve the all-win record India has against the Irish side in the format.

India's team selection would be a topic of conversation as many are expecting a debut to be handed out to the exciting young pacer, Umran Malik. Also in contention would be middle order batters Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi for a chance to out in a good show ahead of the T20 World Cup later on this year.
