India left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed in action.

Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has fractured the scaphoid bone in his left wrist during India A’s first one-day match against New Zealand A at Lincoln on January 22.

At the moment, Khaleel's hand is in a plaster cast. And he has been ruled out of the remainder of India A's tour.

The National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru will manage his rehabilitation.

Khaleel had started the tour with six wickets, including the tour match against New Zealand XI, in his first two appearances in the tournament. In the first unofficial ODI in Lincoln, he returned with figures of 2/46 in eight overs.

His absence is a setback for India A.

The 22-year-old made his ODI debut in 2018 in the Asia Cup. The maiden T20I appearance came two months later against West Indies in Kolkata.

Khaleel has 15 wickets in 11 ODIs. In T20Is, he has 13 wickets in 14 games.
