Hello and welcome to Sportstar's live coverage of the T20I between India and the West Indies in Florida.

11:54pm INDIA WINS

The rain doesn't relent and play has been called. India wins by 22 runs on DLS method. And that's a series win.

There's a match left in the T20I series. It's in Guyana on Tuesday and West Indies will want to win that. They'll feel they could have gone on to win this one too if not for the rain.

11:20pm

No one's really when play can begin or how lightning has to stop for before play can begin.

Oh there's a bit of drizzle now. Seems like the game's heading for a DLS result.

11:08pm: Play stopped

The covers are on. The DLS par score is 120. West Indies is 98/4 after 15.3 overs.

It doesn't look like it's raining, though. The word is there's lightining in the area and they've been brought off the field as a precaution.

10:58pm: Krunal Pandya twin-strike

Krunal Pandya strikes again in the same over and this time it's the big wicket of Rovman Powell . It's given out for LBW. Powell goes for the review, but it's unsuccessful. Powell departs for 54 off 34 balls.

Keiron Pollard and Shimron Hetmyer at the crease for West Indies. Hemyer hits a boundary on his first ball.  89/4 after 14 overs.

10:54pm Brilliant catch in the deep

Nicolas Pooran is OUT as Manish Pandey takes a brilliant cathc at the ropes. He stands at the edge of the ropes and bends back and catches it but throws it back inside the boundary as he loses balance. Takes it safely inside. Krunal Pandya gets his first wicket.

10:47pm: Powell hits fifty

Powell gets a single off Saini and brings up his fifty and equals his highest T20I score.

And now he's going for it now. He smacks Saina down the ground and the long-off shouldn't even bother. It's a free-hit too. Saini bowls a good yorker. West Indies 83/2 after 13 overs.

Rovman Powell hits a six over deep mid-wicket on the last ball of Krunal Pandya's over (the first bad ball, in fact). That takes him to 49 off 29 balls.

10:40pm: 66/2 after 11 overs

Khaleel Ahmed is brought back into the attack and does well this time. He concedes only four off his third over. Powell and Pooran have done well to keep West Indies on track for a close chase.

10:29pm 46/2 after 8.0 overs

Boundaries coming regularly for West Indies now. Saini is hit for two boundaries. His extra pace is helping, both fours from Powell come off the edge.

Powell is on 28 off just 13 balls. He's leading the charge.

10:22pm 36/2 after 7 overs

21-year-old Khaleel Ahmed has been expensive in his two overs. He gets hit for a four and six in his second over. Powell and Pooran are accelerating. This might be the partnership West Indies needs

10:20pm

Navdeep Saini doesn't quite get the start he needs, after an excellent debut yesterday. He goes for 9 runs in his first over and West Indies 25/2 after 6 overs.

10:05pm NARINE OUT

BOWLED! Washington Sundar gets Sunil Narine's wicket. Narine, frustrated after failing to find the gaps, comes down the pitch. He's beaten and the all hits the top of the stumps.

West Indies are 8/2 after 3 overs.

9:58pm Bhuvi gets Lewis! 7/1 after 2.0 overs

Bhuvneshwar Kumar strikes! Evin Lewis is deceived by a slower length ball and Bhuvi dives to take a brilliant catch off his own bowling.

Sunil Narine is looking for a boundary, but can't find it yet.

Washington Sundar opens the bowling, again. He concedes only two in the first over.

9:39pm: India sets a target of 168

What's a good score on this pitch? Pandya is not risking guessing it. He hits back-to-back sixes off the first two balls.

Keemo Paul bowls the next one slow and wide on the off side. Misses.

Ravindra Jadeja on strike and he gets into the action. SIX

The last ball is wide and full. Only a single. 167/5 after 20 overs

9:32pm WICKET! Cottrell again

Cottrell gets another! Manish Pandey gets caught behind.

He sees Pandey come up the pitch and bowls it short. Pandey goes for the pull and it takes a top edge and Pooran takes it cleanly.

Ravindra Jadeja comes in with an over to go. 147/5 after 19.0

9:22pm: KOHLI BOWLED! 135/4 after 17 overs

Cottrell takes Virat Kohli's middle stump and it's time for the march and salute!

It's a full-length ball that angles back into Kohli and he completely misses it - goes right through his defence, taking the middle stump for a walk. That's the second match in a row he's got Kohli out.

Krunal Pandya comes in to bat.

9:16pm: Pant goes too, 126/3

Oshane Thomas strikes again. Rishabh Pant tries to guide a short ball over third man but gets caught at the ropes by Keiron Pollard. Pant manages only four.

Manish Pandey is the new man in.

9:10pm: Rohit Sharma goes, 117/2 after 14 overs

Oshane Thomas is back into the attack. Rohit Sharma swings early and misses, the ball hitting hos elbow. That looked like it hurt.

He goes for a heave on the on side and it goes straight up. Shimron Hetmyer takes it safely and Rohit Sharma is out for 67 off 51 balls .

Rishabh Pant comes in.

9:03pm India 111/1 after 13 overs

Somebody stop Rohit Sharma. It's Brathwaite on the receving end this time as he hits him for a six on the onside. India goes past the 100-run mark . and follows it up with a four past point.

8:58pm: 98/0 after 12 overs

Virat Kohli joins the party with a six off Khary Pierre. They're going for it.

Five more runs off that over.

8:54pm:Fifty for Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma pulls the fourth ball of the 11th over (Narine) for six and he's on 49. He brings up his fifty with a single. This is the man in form.

He attempts another maximum on the last ball but almost gets caught at the deep. Cottrell doesn't quite get his hands on it.

8:52pm Halfway through, 77/1

Virat Kohli is taking his time to fire. He can afford that luxury after the solid opening partnership. Besides, he has Rohit beside him. They'll need to get the run rate up now, though.

8:44pm BOWLED! 68/1 after 8 overs

Broken bat! The toe end of Dhawan's bat chips away and it's time for a replacement. For a match as slow as this, that's some entertainment.

WICKET! Dhawan falls as Keemo Paul bowls him with a slower ball. He tries to play across a full delivery and misses. He goes for 23 off 16.

Virat Kohli comes in and pulls the first ball. It's fielded at the boundary.

8:38pm: 61/0 after 7.0 overs

The skipper, Carlos Barthwaite, is into the attack. Bowls a wide on the fourth ball - it's way outside off stump. He gets it right on the next ball but Dhawan edges it between the slip and keeper to the boundary. He ends the over with a slow bouncer that catches Rohit off guard.

8:31pm 52/0 after 6.0 overs

Rohit Sharma has settled in. Keemo Paul bowls a slow full toss on his legs and Rohit flicks it over mid on for a six. He gets down on his knees and sweeps him to the boundary on the fifth ball. Rohit is on 37 from 28 balls.

8:24pm 39/0 after 5.0 overs

Sunil Narine comes into the attack and concedes only a run in the first five balls. The last one goes to the boundary. Dhawan getting on his knees and getting it past mid-on.

8:21pm 34/0 after 4.0 overs

Sublime from Rohit Sharma. Impeccable timing and that beautiful stance. He hits a four over cover on the first ball and then one straight down the pitch. Dhawan walks down the pitch on Cottrell's last ball and adjust well to get it past point. It's fielded well on the boundary.

8:17pm: 21/0 after 3.0 overs

Two boundaries off that over. Rohit Sharma with one on the second ball of Thomas' second over. Dhawan ends the over with a boundary, using the pace and bounce to ramp it over the keeper.

8:12pm 9/0 after 2.0 overs

Sheldon Cottrell bowls the second. Starts off with a wide.

He's getting a bit of swing but it's another wide on the legside. Follows that up with another wide two ballls later. Only extras this over.

8:05pm: 6/0 after 1.0 overs

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan open for India. Oshane Thomas opens the bowling.

And it's a boundary off the very first ball . It's bowled on the leg and Rohit flicks it to the boundary.

Thomas is keeping the length short, generating quite a lot of bounce early on. Dhawan edges one to Nicolas Pooran. Or does he? Review. And it's a review wasted. Not even close to the edge. Don't know what Pooran heard there.

7:49pm Rahane: Important to respect Windies and play our game

“We all know they are an unpredictable team. For us, it is important to respect them and play our game. I am looking forward to give my best.”

Indian Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane made the most of the short gap he got between his stint for Hampshire and the country’s two-match Test series in West Indies by training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

Rahane, who played his last county match for Hampshire between July 13 and 16, moved to Bangalore to train under the guidance of his idol Rahul Dravid and prepare for the West Indies Test series, starting on August 22.

“I was doing my fitness. The reason of going to Bangalore was because it was raining heavily in Mumbai and Bangalore was the best place. I trained under Rahul Dravid, he has been one of my role models,” said Rahane, who was the chief guest at the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) annual awards function here on Saturday. 7:32pm Toss

India wins toss and chooses to bat first.

No changes to India's team.

For West Indies, John Campbell is out. So, Sunil Narine will open the batting. Khary Pierre comes in.

7:26pm

West Indies choked in front of the Indian bowlers yesterday, scoring 95 for the loss of nine wickets in its 20 overs. Skipper Carlos Brathwaite put that down to not assessing the conditions well enough.

“We didn't assess the conditions well. Kudos to Polly for leading the team with the bat, showed his experience. 130-140 would have been good on that wicket. We showed great heart to take the game as deep as we did and it shows that we batted ourselves out of the game with out lack of assessment early,” Brathwaite said at the post match presentation ceremony.

“We ask the guys to play positive, aggressive cricket as we West Indians instinctively do. The message would be to keep the intent, however you need to assess better and be smarter with shot selection,” he added.

7:23pm

As a senior in the side, India's Bhuvneswar Kumar is only happy to mentor youngsters like Navdeep Saini who made an impressive debut yesterday. Read more on that here .

The toss is scheduled for 7:30pm. Stay tuned.
