The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Monday confirmed it was planning to felicitate eight cricket legends from India and Pakistan before the two sides lock horns in a World T20 group encounter here on March 19.

Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram and Intikhab Alam will be handed over mementos before the high-voltage game that is expected to draw in huge crowds at the iconic Eden Gardens ground.

“We have planned to felicitate four legends from India and Pakistan each. We will be giving them mementos. We have requested them to be here and are awaiting confirmation from them,” said a senior CAB official.

The official added: “We are likely to distribute tickets from the 15th or 16th. It all depends on the CAB President (Sourav Ganguly)... But it will be a full house no doubt.”
