A 115-run third wicket partnership between George Bartlett and Delray Rawlins helped England escape with a draw on the final day of the second Junior Test match against India on Friday at the VCA Jamtha stadium here.

England finished with a score of 255 in its second innings off 82 overs as the final day ended. The home team had taken 13 runs first innings lead.

England batsman Daniel Houghton (0) retired hurt this morning.

Then, Bartlett in company of Rawlins ensured that the visiting team was in a safe zone. Bartlett scored 76, while Rawlins made 49.

Later, Aaron Broad (34 not out) and Will Jacks (19) shared 50 runs for the seventh wicket, depriving the home side of victory.

Indian spinner Harsh Tyagi (4/67) was the pick of the Indian attack. He bowled with clever variation but hardly received any support from other bowlers as the visiting team batted well.

Brief Score:

England first innings: 375 all out

India first innings: 388 all out

England second innings: 255 for 9 off 82 overs.
