Kumble holds ‘roadmap’ meeting with Dhoni, Kohli

Newly-appointed head coach Anil Kumble held a ‘roadmap meeting’ with India’s captains Virat Kohli and M.S. Dhoni here this afternoon. “This was a very fruitful exercise. Sitting here, we all have one intention and agenda: To align our actions to maximize the potential of Indian cricket. For that we all need to work as one unit. I am thankful to the BCCI for organising such an initiative," Kumble said after the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Rahul Dravid, Head Coach, India-A, Sandeep Patil, Chairman of senior selection committee, Venkatesh Prasad, Chairman of junior selection committee, W. V. Raman, and Narender Hirwani, coaches at NCA along with Patrick Farhat (Physio, Indian Cricket Team), Shankar Basu, (Trainer, Indian Cricket Team), Andrew Leipus (Physio, NCA) and M. V. Sridhar, General Manager, BCCI.

Kohli and the rest of the Indian Test team, in the city as part of the ongoing preparatory camp for the West Indies tour, played a practice game at the Alur grounds in the morning. Both the coach and captain made their way back from the Alur facility before the conclusion of the practice game, for the meeting. > Read: Indian players get into competitive mode

Speaking on the meeting, the BCCI president, Anurag Thakur, said, “Idea was to bring all the stakeholders on the same page as we draw the path for the upcoming season of Indian Cricket. Based on their discussions and recommendations, BCCI will plan the future accordingly. This kind of brainstorming sessions will be a regular feature to streamline our efforts to take Indian cricket to new heights.”
