Newly elected President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association C P Joshi has claimed that there are no rifts in RCA camp.

Veteran Congress leader CP Joshi, who pipped Ruchir Modi to recapture the Rajasthan Cricket Association president’s post, took over charge and reiterated that his immediate priority would be to get the BCCI suspension lifted.

Joshi, who had to withdraw against Lalit Modi about four years ago after being deserted by his own supporters, was clearly a pleased person after beating the 22-year-old son of former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi

“I will have to look into every aspect of this suspension, but this would be my first priority. However, for this I need support from all quarters including the state government,” said Joshi.

While Joshi claimed that there were no groups inside the RCA, the cracks within ranks have already started to show. The two key members, secretary and treasurer, both Modi supporters, had taken charge without waiting for Joshi.

The secretary RS Nandu, a close supporter of Lalit Modi, was not present at the function where Joshi was welcomed by likes of former RCA president and secretary Sanjay Dixit and former MP Lalchand Kataria.

Though Nandu has cited personal reasons behind his absence, insiders say these were signs of an impending storm.

It might be recalled that minutes after Lalit Modi was declared the president of RCA, the BCCI had suspended the board for allowing a banned individual to take charge of its affairs.
