BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary stated that while some State Associations have already implemented the judgement, others have expressed reservations on the impracticability of a few of the recommendations.

With the Supreme Court scheduled to hear the matter related to the implementation of the Justice Lodha reforms on February 23, the BCCI’s acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary has requested the board members to give their "express views’’ on the same so that he can put them all in his affidavit to be placed before the apex court.

Choudhary stated that while some State Associations have already implemented the judgement and filed affidavits before the Supreme Court, others have expressed their readiness to fall in line subject to their reservations on the impracticability of a few of the recommendations like One State, One Vote and bar on the eligibility of government employees.

In a note mailed to the members on Sunday (Feb. 18), Choudhary has said: "As many as 13 full member units have already written indicating their above decision (on the matter of provision of cooling off period, Constitution of the Apex Council and Distribution of functions, powers and responsibilities between the elected office-bearers and the professional appointees) and more have requested me to do the needful to bring their views to the notice of the Hon’ble Court.

"In keeping with the said request, I propose to file an affidavit before the Hon’ble Supreme Court apprising it of the views of the said members with regard to the implementation of the reforms. However, before that is done the undersigned would most humbly request those members, who have not expressed themselves expressly on the subject, to kindly do so.’’

Choudhary also cited in his note, the reforms matter being considered many times by the BCCI at SGMs and at different forums. "It so happens that even after the passage of a considerable period of time, the process of implementation of the judgement is still to be completed.

"You might also be aware that following directions of the Hon’ble Apex Court, the undersigned and the other two office-bearers had submitted their undertakings to the Hon’ble Court on January 30, 2017 pledging their unreserved support to the implementation of the reforms.’’
