Ravichandran Ashwin has been named in India's squad for the tour of West Indies.

Leading cricketers from Tamil Nadu, Murali Vijay and R. Ashwin, have signed up for Tamil Nadu Premier League’s (TNPL) player draft.

Sportstar has learnt both these cricketers have sent their signed forms from Bangalore, where they were part of the Indian team’s preparatory camp ahead of the Test series in the West Indies.

July 11 will be the last date for enrolling players in TNPL.

Since the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has a well organised league structure where a club is allowed to sign two outstation cricketers, the TNPL will feature several good players from the other states.

The inaugural edition of TNPL has already seen a vibrant auction that fetched TNCA over Rs. 30 crore with two of the eight franchises going for over Rs. 5 crore each.

During the first year, TNPL will be played in Chennai and two district centres Natham and Tirunelveli. All three centres are equipped with floodlights.

Star Network will telecast the tournament. It has bought the rights for Rs. 7 crore. However, the production costs will have to be borne by TNCA.
