Sri Lanka paceman Dushmantha Chameera will return to Colombo after scans revealed a stress fracture in his lower back.
Chameera finished with figures of 3-64 as the tourist crashed to a heavy loss to England in the first Test at Headingley.
The 24-year-old is returning to Sri Lanka after undergoing scans on Tuesday, needing rest for up to four months.
Dhammika Prasad has also returned to his homeland with a shoulder injury.
