AB de Villiers has stepped down as South Africa's ODI captain but will be available for selection in all three formats from mid-October, the 33-year-old announced in a video message posted on his Twitter account.
De Villiers captained South Africa in 103 matches, with 59 wins and 39 losses. The aggressive right-handed batsman has 9319 runs from 222 ODIs at an average of 53.55, with 24 hundreds and 53 half-centuries under his belt. He led the Proteas to the World Cup semi-final in 2015 , where they lost to New Zealand.
