Brisbane Heat batsman Chris Lynn provided the highlight of its seven-wicket win over the Hobart Hurricanes, smashing Shaun Tait onto the roof of the Gabba. Lynn made an unbeaten 84 from 50 deliveries, featuring seven sixes, as the Heat maintained its perfect record in this season's Big Bash League, chasing down a target of 174 with 3.4 overs to spare.
Brendon McCullum's thrilling 72 from 35 was the other telling contribution to the Heat's chase on Friday, he and Lynn sharing a second-wicket stand of 109 in less than nine overs. McCullum was dropped by Kumar Sangakkara on 22 while Lynn was also put down on four and made D'Arcy Short pay heavily as the Heat made it three wins from three to move top of the table.
Earlier in the day, the Hurricanes had lost wickets at regular intervals but still managed a competitive-looking 173-9, Dan Christian's 33 from 23 the best effort of an innings that never really got going. Heat bowlers Mark Steketee (2-29) and Samuel Badree (1-26) impressed in their allocations, but they were merely setting the stage for McCullum and Lynn to wreak havoc — the latter clattering successive Short deliveries over the fence to seal the win in style.

It was Lynn's second successive fifty in the tournament, >following on from his unbeaten 85 in Wednesday's victory over Sydney Thunder . The highlight was undoubtedly his monster six off Tait, swung away off a full length over midwicket, onto the roof of the Gabba and measuring more than 120 metres.
Lynn is now the BBL's highest run-scorer this season, with 198 from his three knocks.
MCCULLUM PLAYS SECOND FIDDLE
An innings of 72 from 35 balls including 10 fours and four maximums would usually earn you Man of the Match. Hard luck, Brendon McCullum.
After the early loss of opening partner Jimmy Peirson, the former New Zealand international displayed his customary devastating power to put the Heat on the victory path.
