Chennai Super Kings leg-spinner Imran Tahir is so inspired by his skipper M.S. Dhoni that he not only follows the leader on the field but off the field as well.
Tahir, a potent weapon for CSK in the Indian Premier League, on Saturday said Dhoni's personality motivated him to be part of the former India captain's venture, M.S. Dhoni Cricket Academy.
"He (Dhoni) has been a great leader and a great human being. He is always there to help. That's what motivates me to join the academy to help the kids. I learn from him and he is a great inspiration," said Tahir at the launch of the West Bengal branch of the MSDCA here.
The 17th branch of the MSDCA, which has branches in Dubai, Singapore and other cities of India, will function from the Salt Lake here.
Tahir said he might be available for the academy in future. "Even though I have not announced myself globally as part of the MSDCA, I am free after the World Cup. Even if I have to come to India or go to any place to help the academy, I am free to come. I always try to help the youngsters whenever I can," he said.
