Here are the top performers of the day.

That's it. Delhi Daredevils records its biggest win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. It gets the better of KKR by 55 runs.

The difference between the two teams tonight.

That is curtains for Andre Russell. The batsman goes for a slog and misses and Avesh Khan is on target. KKR 144/8, needs 76 in 13 balls. It is understandable for the young bowler to get carried away after a big wicket, but a mouthful is always against the spirit of the game. Will Avesh Khan get a warning from the match referee? 4-0-29-2 for Avesh.

It is Shreyas Iyer who is the most popular young batsman.

At 142/7 and with 79 to get off just 24 balls, KKR faces an uphill task. But after 16.1 overs, there is nothing to separate the teams in terms of runs - even DD was 142/3 at the same stage. It is the number of wickets and the Shreyas Iyer special that KKR might lack in the end.

Youngster Shubman Gill has been clinical on the off side. Here is how he has scored his runs.

Two fours and three sixes in 13 balls by Andre Russell. KKR 123/5. Needs 97 in 40 balls.

It looks like we have to keep updating the sixes column in our stats book. Andre Russell is in no mood to relent. He is ruthless as he smashes Boult for another six. He has 22 against his name now. He is just one behind the leaders - AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Well, Russell shows glimpses of destruction. He smashes Avesh Khan for 90 meters away and brings up the tournament's 375th six . And follows up with another monstrous one. KKR in the game?

Can we see a special from Andre Russell tonight?

The West Indian has the best strike rate in this edition of IPL - He strikes at 227.02 . He has also hit 6 fours and 19 sixes. (well, we have to keep counting). A special needed from him should KKR needs to cross the line. His 11 sixes in a match - against CSK - is the joint highest in this IPL, he holds the record with compatriot Chris Gayle.

This has been a routine for Delhi Daredevils in this match. Trent Boult celebrates the fall of Sunil Narine.

10.36 pm: It gets more difficult for KKR. Dinesh Karthik tries to clear Amit Mishra but finds Trent Boult at backward point as he plays against the spin. KKR in dire straits at 77/5 in the 10th over.

Which batsman do you love to watch playing? Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill or Prithvi Shaw? Do join the conversation and vote for your choice!

The Delhi Daredevils now has the Purple Cap. Trent Boult snaps his 11th wicket of the league and goes to the top of the wicket takers list. He overtakes Mumbai's Mayank Markande who had 10 against his name.

10:15 pm: OUT. Avesh Khan bounces out Nitish Rana for 8. A well-directed short ball and Rana plays its back to the bowler for an easy catch. KKR 51/4 in 5 overs.

After the early jolts, skipper Karthik and Rana hold key to KKR's run-chase.

10:00 pm: Glenn Maxwell and Trent Boult draw first blood for Delhi Daredevils by removing Chris Lynn (5) and Robin Uthappa (1) respectively. KKR has a big mountain to climb as it chases a mammoth target of 220.

Shreyas Iyer's 93 off 40 balls, with a strike rate of 232.50 is the fourth highest in this year's IPL.

9.35 pm: A stat that KKR wouldn't be proud of. The last over, bowled by Shivam Mavi, is the most expensive over in this edition of the IPL. He gave away 29 runs. Mavi's 4-0-58-1 is the most runs conceded by a KKR bowler. Piyush Chawla's 4-0-49-1 against CSK in Chennai was the previous worst for KKR.

Well, we have some interesting stat for DD.

Shreyas Iyer now has hit the most number of sixes for Delhi Daredevils in this IPL - 9 of them. Make it 10 as he sends Shivam Mavi for his fourth six in the 20th over. He remains unbeaten on 93, off just 40 balls. Three fours and 10 sixes. What are his scoring areas? Check below.

14 fours and 14 sixes for Delhi Daredevils and they aren't done yet.

Prithvi Shaw delivers in the IPL. Click here to read more on what the young player had done to write the record books on Friday.

Well, the new DD captain has made a record - in his first match at the helm.

Although Piyush Chawla leaked 33 runs in his four overs tonight, he has bowled the most number of dot balls for KKR. 10.

Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw have scored the most number of boundaries for Delhi Daredevils - 7 each. And both have come against Kolkata Knight Riders. Pant at Eden Gardens and Shaw at Feroz Shah Kotla.

KKR's bowling coach Heath Streak is a concerned man. What is his advice to his players? "We need to just pull things back, change of pace and attacking the stumps is the key - it's just sticking to the basics," he says.

8.45 pm: Prithvi Shaw becomes the youngest to score an IPL 50. What a game the youngster is having!

This is how he has scored so far, and he isn't done yet.

Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav have bowled the most number of dot balls for KKR. 51, 47 and 32 balls respectively . A total of 130 balls. But it looks like that stat isn't of much use tonight.

For Delhi Daredevils, Rishabh Pant scored the maximum number of runs in an over - 18. It was against Mumbai Indians on 14 April.

8.40 pm: Time for the first 'Strategic Time out'. DD is 77/1 in 9 overs.

This is where Munro's runs came from. Although a short innings, he had utilised the space in front of the wicket well.

MunroPNG

8.29 pm: Munro blitz comes to an end. Shivam Mavi cleans the swashbuckling batsman. DD 59/1 in 7 overs. This is Mavi's third wicket in his IPL career .

8.25 pm: Delhi Daredevils has posted its best Power Play score in this edition of the IPL. It is on 57/0 after 6 overs.

Join the action. How much do you think Delhi Daredevils will score tonight?

8.18 pm: Colin Munro's strike rate just keeps improving. He has a strike rate of 140 in the first 10 balls which soars up to 170 as he settles down. That's not good news for KKR though. Munro is on 31 off 14 balls as DD races to 51 in 5 overs.

8.10 pm: This has been a great start from Delhi Daredevils. Colin Munro and Prithvi Shaw have clobbered 31 in the first three, with 18 coming off Piyush Chawla's second over.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what Harsha Bhogle had to say on Gambhir's omission.

Dinesh Karthik, at the toss, says, "There will be dew and the wicket will be better to bat at night. Just keep cool, it's just a game, the weather shouldn't be a problem tonight."

Shreyas Iyer sounds confident and says, "There's some pressure on us, but this is also a great opportunity for me. We need to win 7 out of our remaining eight games, it's tough but not impossible."
