Bangar quits KXIP; Sehwag likely to replace him

Sanjay Bangar, India's batting coach, joined Kings XI Punjab as an assistant coach in 2014. Becoming head coach in the same season, he helped the team finish runner-up. But the team finished last in the previous two editions of the IPL.

Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar stepped down as head coach of the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.

Bangar joined Kings XI Punjab as an assistant coach in 2014. Becoming head coach in the same season, he helped the team finish runner-up. But the team finished last in the previous two seasons.

"The decision was taken in the last week of November. I offered my resignation to the (Kings XI) board and they recently accepted my resignation," Bangar told Hindustan Times on Friday.

Virender Sehwag is likely to replace Bangar.
