CSK vs SRH Star Wars: M.S. Dhoni vs Kane Williamson

Both Dhoni and Williamson are expert readers of the game and can be spot-on with their decisions, mostly through meticulous planning.

Will Dhoni's nous power CSK to yet another title or will Williamson's captaincy acumen cometo the fore?

When Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kane Williamson — the most successful skippers in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League — lead their respective teams out for one last time this season, all eyes would be on the duo's tactical acumen.

Both captains are quite similar in approach — their calm demeanour overshadows their artful understanding. Both Dhoni and Williamson are expert readers of the game and can be spot-on with their decisions, mostly through meticulous planning.

The captains have the necessary ammunition in them to fire. Dhoni's return as the finisher enhanced his stakes while his teammates have stood up to the occasion when needed. Dwayne Bravo rose to the occasion when CSK was down in the dumps in the opener against Mumbai and Ambati Rayudu picked up from where Bravo left. Sam Billings, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina delivered when it mattered with Faf du Plessis staking claim for the role of a finisher in CSK's last match.

In the bowling department, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, Lungi Ngidi and Bravo have been successful in choking the opposition, more than once.

For Sunrisers, their bowling has been the talking point. Williamson has used his trump card – Rashid Khan - exceptionally well. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been spot on at the death, he has got ample support from Siddarth Kaul, Shakib al Hasan and the likes of Carlos Brathwaite too.

Williamson's men are consistent performers with the bat too. While Shikhar Dhawan, Alex Hales and Wriddhiman Saha have been solid at the top, Williamson has made the No. 3 position his own. In Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan and Shakib, Williamson is not shy of choices in the middle order too.

On Sunday, whichever team takes the upper hand, it would all boil down to Dhoni and Williamson's cognizance.
