We need to be careful that we don't overly focus on Andre Russell who is dynamic, said Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming on the eve of CSK vs KKR.

As expected, Andre Russell has become the talking point ahead of Chennai Super Kings home clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.

However, CSK's head coach Stephen Fleming said his team isn't overly focussing on Russell, who the other day turned the game around for KKR with his blazing 13-ball 48 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

"You know the other six they got are good — Lynn, Uthappa, Karthik and we need to be careful that we don't overly focus on Russell who is dynamic. There is good work done by other players also and that doesn't change our preparation to focus on one or two players. We are acutely aware how dangerous these players are but the business is as usual for us and how we go around things gives us a good chance.

"We have to look at the real context of the game and match up with the analysis that we have (of Russell). The pressure is always during the last overs and we are up against a good side and it still doesn't change our preparations as we continue to do the same things," Fleming explained.

CSK has experienced spinners in Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja. When asked if one of them could be an bowling option at the death, Fleming said: "It is dewy and we saw Mitch Santner who is the best spinner struggled to hold the ball. We can't over plan and need to free up our mind and make sure we assess the conditions well and our captain is best at it.

"We don't want to get caught up between who bowls when as you could miss the nuances of the game. We really promote and encourage our players to be very mindful on the field and make good decisions, play good cricket in sync with the captain and the senior players around," he added.
