Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Capitals' response with a 50-ball 67. His innings, studded with eight boundaries and two sixes, coupled with Prithvi Shaw's quickfire 28 at the top denied Royal Challengers Bangalore a comeback into the match.
Navdeep Saini's two for 24 was the silver lining in an otherwise dismal bowling performance from the Royal Challengers. Saini got rid of Shreyas Iyer and Chris Morris but found little support from his team-mates as Delhi registered a comfortable four-wicket win.
Virat Kohli was RCB's top-scorer with a 33-ball 41 but he was far from his best, struggling to break the shackles against a Delhi attack that kept chipping away at the wickets. He showed his intent with two maximums in the death overs but fell to Rabada before he causing any significant damage.
Kagiso Rabada's four-for rocked RCB's batting in the death overs.
Moeen Ali tried to inject some urgency in RCB's batting with a 18-ball 32 including three towering sixes but on a day when RCB slumped from 103/4 to 142/8, Moeen was eventually dismissed trying to up the ante.
Plenty to ponder for Virat Kohli as RCB crumbled to its sixth successive defeat of the season.
