The winner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will get a prize money of Rs 20 crore while the runner-up will receive Rs 12.5 crore.

Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings in the final of the Indian Premier League at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

The winner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will get a prize money of Rs 20 crore. As per the norm, 50 per cent of the prize money will go to the franchise with the rest being distributed among the players. The runner-up will receive Rs 12.5 crore.

The sides finishing third and fourth receive Rs 8.75 crore.

The total prize money for the winning team in the inaugural edition of the IPL was Rs 4.8 crore while the runner-up got Rs 2.4 crore.

CSK has 25 players in the squad including eight overseas stars, while MI has 24 with eight internationals.
