A very strange bowling action might be the first thing to notice with Harry Gurney, but the English pacer's impact is evident once the ball escapes his arm and snakes its way in the air to bamboozle the batsmen.

The 32-year old has been picked by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 75 lakh after his impressive performances in the Big Bash League which helped Melbourne Renegades won its maiden title. He built up a reputation as a death-bowling specialist as he won the T10 League in the UAE and played a key role in Quetta Gladiators title-winning campaign in Pakistan Super League 2019.

The left-armer can slow down the ball drastically and also possesses a variation of slow balls including a yorker, a length ball, swinging full toss which could beat the batsmen.

Gurney has also played 10 ODIs for England accounting for 11 wickets with best figures of 4-55 against Sri Lanka at Lord's. He has also played 2 T20Is for England.

Gurney has taken 275 first-class wickets at an average of 28.81, including career-best figures of 6-25 against Lancashire in 2018. He joined Notts in 2012 after starting his career with Leicestershire and took more than 40 wickets in the County Championship in three of the past four seasons.
