Kolkata Knight Riders’ 218 for the loss of four wickets against Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday is the highest-ever IPL total at the iconic ground.
On a pitch that had a tinge of green, KKR rode on Nitish Rana (63 off 34 balls) and Andre Russell (48 off 17) to record the landmark total. The Dinesh Karthik-led side also overtook Delhi Capitals’ 213, which was the highest total of IPL 2019 till this evening.
KKR started on a positive note by taking on rookie spinner Varun Chakravarthy. Sunil Narine smashed the mystery bowler for 25 runs in his first over.
