Following five straight defeats in the Indian Premier League, the Kolkata Knight Riders management has given the team “some time off to regroup” ahead of its next match against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens here on Thursday.
“A few of the players felt they could get a better practice session in Mumbai. These players will be rejoining the rest of the team on Wednesday,” KKR, which has eight points from 10 matches, said in a brief statement on Monday.
Captain Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, Y. Prithvi Raj, Shrikant Mundhe and Nikil Naik went to Mumbai after KKR’s away match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Rest of the squad returned to Kolkata.
