Sam Curran's hat-trick handed Kings XI Punjab a thrilling 14-run win.

English all-rounder Sam Curran dismissed Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada and Sandeep Lamichhane in consecutive deliveries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Delhi Capitals to record the 18th hat-trick in the tournament's history. With figures of 4-11, the 20-year old helped Kings XI Punjab to a 14-run victory.

Curran became the third Kings XI Punjab player to record a hat-trick after Yuvraj Singh achieved the feat twice in the 2009 season and Axar Patel in 2016.

The match looked going Delhi's way with Colin Ingram and Rishabh Pant at the crease when Curran alongside Mohammad Shami struck in successive overs to remove the pair to tilt the scales in Punjab's favour.

He sent down two back-to-back yorkers to send Kagiso Rabada and Sandeep Lamichhane's stumps flying to seal the win and send Punjab to the second spot in the points table.

Delhi Capitals' Amit Mishra holds the record for the highest number of hat-tricks with three to his name.
