Lasith Malinga's four-wicket haul helped Mumbai Indians to a 46-run victory over Chennai Super Kings. Malinga removed opener Shane Watson before getting rid of Bravo, Santner and Harbhajan later in the innings. With this win, Mumbai has now overtaken Delhi Capitals to the No. 2 spot.
Malinga was ably supported by Jasprit Bumrah, whose two for 10 from three overs coupled with Krunal Pandya's two for seven from three put the lid on CSK's scoring in the middle overs.
Murali Vijay was CSK's top run-scorer with a 35-ball 38 during which he struck one six and three fours. However, he found little support from his other team-mates as Chennai folded for 109.
Rohit Sharma's 48-ball 67, his first IPL fifty this season, powered Mumbai to an eventually winning total of 155/4. He hammered three sixes and six fours during his knock. The visiting side was buoyed by Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard's cameo at the death.
Mitchell Santner was pick of the bowlers for CSK, snapping up two for 13 from his four. He got rid of Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis.
