Mumbai Indians' top-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav says the team is more keen to focus on all the good things they did against Chennai Super Kings in its last match, as it aims to make progress in IPL 2019.
“Essentially, we played the brand of cricket for which Mumbai is famous for with everyone showing the ‘want to win’ attitude,” he said.
In a media briefing on the eve of the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad here, Suryakumar said they have been following the batting performances of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow and that they do have plans for them like they have for the others too.

“But instead of thinking too much about that, we will play to our strengths. Yes, we didn’t have great starts at the top of the batting order but the important thing is all of them are batting really well. So, it is just a question of one big match to get going,” Suryakumar said.
“Personally, I am flexible to bat at any position and No. 3 here for Mumbai is pretty close to opening the innings. I always enjoyed batting anywhere. No doubt, this is a new role but I will try to give my best,” he said.
“I don’t think we will be missing Malinga for the whole season,” he said to a query.
Suryakumar felt there was no need to be concerned about the hesitant start to the IPL campaign for which his team is known for. “It is a long season and we are confident,” he said.
