Parthiv Patel is hopeful of the wicket at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and expects it to facilitate a lot of runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel says it is important for the entire team to contribute instead of banking on the brilliance of captain Virat Kohli or AB de Villiers.

“The tournament has just started and we are honestly not concerned about the form of any individual player. All have been batting and bowling really well in practice sessions. It is only a question of time before we get the momentum going,” he said on the eve of the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.

“We have to stick to our strengths when we face Sunrisers who had a very good win in the previous game,” he said.

“The wicket here looks good and hopefully facilitates lot of runs. There is no fixed gameplan about opening combinations as we have to consider the playing conditions and the opposition we are facing like how many off-spinners are there before we go for the left-right combination at the top,” he explained.

On David Warner’s batting, Parthiv says like all other teams RCB too has plans in place for some individuals.

“Every game is fresh and we are not bothered about what happened in the past. There is nothing like going into a game with any advantage, you have to be at your best,” he said on facing a struggling Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

For his part, Sunrisers all-rounder Vijay Shankar said after the win against Rajasthan Royals that the confidence of the team was on a high.

Vijay said one good over could well make the difference in the case of Bhuvneshwar. “We have one of the best bowling attacks,” he said.
